Lantern is a self-reading text selected from the first unit of the eighth grade textbook. This unit is a multi-style unit, including novels, poems and essays, but all have the same theme, that is, "folk culture". Learning this unit can broaden students' horizons, see various folk customs and enhance their understanding of social life and culture. "Lantern" takes the theme of this unit as a clue, integrates narration, lyricism and scenery description, expresses some memories about lanterns with prose style, and expresses the important significance of lanterns to oneself and even the nation from different aspects.
