“The ultimate civilization is to return to nature.” —Jessie Sampter

Simplicity Life has different meaning and value to each of us. To me, living a simple life means cutting out the rough and picking the best, avoiding strife to pursue inner peace, and spending time on the things that truly matter to you.

This means getting rid of all the entanglements and spending time with the people you love and doing the things you like. Get rid of some chores and your life will become more valuable.

However, making life simple is not as easy as it sounds. Simple living is the process of life, not the purpose.

72 Concepts of Simple Life

Simplifying life does not have to be done step by step. The following are some incomplete views that I have collected. Maybe not all of them will work for you. You just need to take the ones that work best for you.

1. Find out the 4-5 things that matter most to you What is the most important thing to you and what do you value most? What are the 4-5 things you want to accomplish in your life? To start a simple life, use the answers to the above questions as the benchmark for your life.

2. Look at your pursuits. Look back at everything in your past, your work, your family, your rights as a citizen, your children, your hobbies, your second career, and everything else. Which ones are most important to you, and which ones are your favorites? What are one of the 4-5 things you want to pursue in your life? Discard answers that are inconsistent with the above questions.

3. Examine your time How do you spend your day? From the moment you open your eyes in the morning to the time you go to bed, what do you do throughout your day? Make a list and see if the items on the list are consistent with your ultimate life goals. If it doesn't match, stop doing these chores immediately. Reframe your day to focus on your ultimate life goals.

4. Simplify your work tasks Our working days are always filled with endless tasks. But if you cross all tasks off your schedule, you'll end up accomplishing nothing, not even the things that matter to you. The correct approach is to focus on the key and important things and leave out the rest.

5. Simplify your housework. Carefully sort out everything you need to do at home to see if it is as endless as your work tasks. We also feel helpless about too much “homework.” Focus on the most important things and try to reduce the tedious work. (This can be achieved by using automatic equipment, deleting tasks, entrusting help, and hiring services)

6. Learn to say no Saying no is a key habit to simplifying your life. If you don't know how to say no, your burden will be too heavy.

7. Control your communication Our daily lives are occupied by various communication methods: e-mail, instant messaging tools, mobile phones, handwritten letters, skype, twitter, various forums, etc. If you don't consciously control it, these behaviors will eat up your day. Therefore, you need to control your communications, for example: only check e-mail at a fixed time of the day (the author recommends keeping the frequency at twice a day, which varies from person to person). As for instant messaging tools, once a day is enough. For telephone communication, you should also pay attention to the control of answering time. Do the same with other communication tools, set a time limit and stick to it strictly.

8. Control your media pastime This advice won't work for everyone. If media entertainment is really important to you, skip this advice. But I still want to say, don’t be dominated by the large amount of TV, radio, Internet, and magazines that fill your daily life. If life is to be simplified, convenient pastimes must be limited.

9. Clear Clutter It will feel great if you spend a weekend clearing out clutter. Pack up items you no longer need and donate them to others or throw them away.

10. Give up huge projects. There are too many complicated things in life that you need to let go of. If you choose to give up big projects first, you will find that life will be much simpler.

11. Tidy up your room. Tidy up one room at a time. After tidying up, look around to see if there are any unnecessary things in the room that can be thrown away. Learn from editors, keep the essential parts and throw away the superfluous.

12. Organize Closets and Drawers After you've tidied your room, start organizing your closets and drawers, one drawer at a time.

13. Clean out your closet Is your closet so full that it’s about to explode? Clean out your closet and get rid of all the clothes you never wear. Create a wardrobe consisting of clothing in the simplest styles and colors.

14. Change the way you handle files If you need to deal with a lot of files and chores, try using a computer to help you do the work, which can save you a lot of time.

15. Use less digital products

16. Write a statement about your simple life

17. Control Your Purchasing You can avoid becoming a materialist and consumerist. If you can break away from a materialistic spending habit, you'll be less likely to craze about something, spend less money, and buy fewer things.

18. Free up your time. Make more time for the things that matter to you, less time for useless chores, and make time for the things you love.

19. Do the things you like to do. Use the time you free up to do the things you like to do. Use it to do the 4-5 things that are most important to you, and do nothing else.

20. Spend time with the people you love. The 4-5 most important things to you may include being with the people you love (if you don’t have this, you have to rethink the 4-5 things that are most important to you). These people may be your Spouse, your partner, your children, your parents, your family or your close friends. Spend time doing something with them or open up to them.

21. Find time to be alone Spending time alone is good for you, even though some people are not used to it. Being alone brings peace of mind and allows you to listen to your own inner voice - although this may sound strange, it can definitely calm you down. Do what really matters to you.

22. Chew carefully and slowly. If you always wolf down your food, you are not only missing out on the delicious food, but you are also damaging your body. Chewing slowly can help you lose weight and aid digestion, allowing you to enjoy life to the fullest.

23. Drive slowly. People always honk their horns angrily while driving, which is harmful to others and not beneficial to themselves. Slowing down can not only make your trip safer and save you gas money, but it can also give you peace of mind.

33. Find other ways to be a maximalist. There are many ways to be a maximalist, and you can be a maximalist in any area of ??your life.

34. Consider choosing a smaller home. After cleaning out your room, you may find that you don’t actually need a large living space. This is not to suggest that you move to a small boat, but if you are willing to choose a small residence, it will not only save you money, but also be easier to maintain.

35. Choosing a car with a smaller displacement is crucial. You may not need a large-displacement car or SUV. Not only are they more expensive, more fuel-intensive, more difficult to maintain, and harder to find a parking space. You don’t have to be able to choose a small car, especially if you have your own family, but you can always choose a car that is big enough for you and your family to sit in. Maybe you can’t do it right now, but you will buy a car in the future. Please take these into consideration.

36. In a materialistic society, we have more and more desires: you can get all kinds of latest fashionable gadgets, all kinds of clothes, all kinds of shoes... But when will this end, no one knows, so everyone Started buying again and again. Being content with what you have can help you get out of the cycle of desire and only sell what you need.

37. Create a Weekly Recipe If deciding on daily meals gives you and your family a nerve-wracking experience, prepare a weekly menu. Think about what you should eat for dinner each day in terms of a week, and then buy what you need for that week. This way you'll know what to eat for dinner. Abandon complicated cooking methods and choose simple and easy-to-operate ones.

38. Healthy Eating You may feel that there is not much correlation between healthy eating habits and a simple life, but think about it, if you eat too greasy, salty and sugary foods and fried foods every day , your risk of getting sick will be much higher. Constantly getting sick, being hospitalized, in and out of the pharmacy, having surgeries, taking insulin shots...that's it. An unhealthy body is a burden, and a healthy diet can help you avoid this burden.

39. Exercise, like healthy eating, simplifies your life in the long run, and is even more beneficial: it helps ease your worries.

Cars are a lot of trouble: bills, car insurance, annual inspections, security inspections, maintenance and repairs, gasoline, etc. all need to be considered.

45. Find your own way to vent your emotions. Whether it is writing, poetry, painting, making movies, designing web pages, dancing, skating or other hobbies, we need emotional catharsis. Finding such a way will make your life more fulfilling and make your life more fulfilling. These go to replace those chores.

47. Doing one thing at a time and doing many things at the same time will only make people more nervous and anxious, which will make them less efficient. So just try to accomplish one thing at a time.

48. Simplify your file system Stacking files on top of each other won't do anything, a file system that actually works will help you.
