Why do the plaques in Wuhou Temple come from Du Fu's poems?
Chengdu Wuhou Temple, with a strong literary atmosphere, attracts tourists' attention with couplets and plaques. Moreover, many inscribed couplets are from Du Fu's hymns, especially Du Fu's high evaluation of Zhuge Liang, which is deeply cherished and has the greatest influence. Up to now, 12 volumes of Du Fu's hymns have been used in various plaques hanging in Wuhou Temple in Chengdu, which has become an important cultural feature of Wuhou Temple. What is the reason? Du Fu's numerous poems praising Zhuge Liang are well-known and have far-reaching influence on later generations. There are 18 poems praising Kongming, such as Shuxiang, Wuhou Temple, Eight Arrays, Zhuge Temple, Gu Baixing, Five Unique Monuments Fu, Shangqing Wengxiu Wuhou Temple, etc. In the history of China's poetry, there are countless poems praising Kongming, which are widely praised. For thousands of years, Du Fu's poems praising Kong Ming have been integrated into Zhuge Liang Memorial Hall in different literary and artistic forms, and the cultural connotation of Chengdu Wuhou Temple has been deeply integrated and enriched through cultural carriers such as plaques and couplets, which have been loved by people. The inscription reads: "the name hangs down the universe" (Qing? Prince Guo Aisingiorro? Allow books), "open the old minister" (Qing? Zhu Huaiban topic), "The late Wuhou Tonglu Palace Master" (Qing? Wan Yan's Shi Chongshu), Wan Gutian Yunyi Feather (modern Xu Beihong's book), etc. The couplet says, "Three summonses are more important than state affairs. I was wrong in the past and present." (The first part uses Du Fu's poem, Dong's book) "Zhuge's power transcends the earth, and there is only reverence for his face." In addition, there are courtyards named after Du Fu's poems about Kongming, such as Tinglan Pavilion, Bicao Garden and Xiangyexuan. There are also a large number of calligraphy works and poems and paintings about these poems in the collection, many of which are designated as national cultural relics. For example, the famous painter Chen Zizhuang's large-scale Chinese painting "In a deep pine forest near Silk City" has become a treasure of Chengdu Wuhou Temple Museum. Du Fu was full of praise for Kong Ming's poems, and at the same time gave him the highest praise, even surpassing the historian Chen Shou, and tied with Zhuge Liang as the first-class officials in ancient times, Yi Yin and Lv Shangzhi. For example, Zhuge's fame is just a drop in the ocean. His brothers, such as Yi and Lu, were divided during the Three Kingdoms period and were bound by his power. Although these short and distinctive comments are not scientific historical evaluations, they are rooted in history, thus deeply affecting the judgment and understanding of Zhuge Liang in later generations.
