When I was very young, there were two trees in the yard: a begonia and a jujube.
Haitang is very lovable. It grows in front of the backyard, and people come and go, and you can see it as soon as you look up. It grows quite tall, with a slender trunk wrapped in white-bearded bark, a curved crown and vertical and horizontal branches. As soon as the spring breeze blows, the trees can't wait to bloom. Its petal powder is white, emitting a refreshing fragrance. As soon as the flowers bloom, we children run under the trees all day, stand on tiptoe and hold our heads up, and we can't get enough of them. Sometimes, I will ask a kind brother-in fact, he is just a child under ten years old-to climb a tree, fold some flowers for us and put them in a glass bottle filled with various inks at home. Overnight, the petals will become colorful, which not only makes us happy, but also makes people like it!
Maybe adults like this begonia more than we do. We saw them watering it from time to time, and carefully built a wall around it with bricks and planted small flowers. People almost say "the stars hold the moon". When the fragrant grass on the begonia tree is delicious and colorful, the jujube tree growing deep in the yard is even more ugly and unnoticed by people.
Yes! The rough bark and sloping trunk of jujube trees are hard land under their feet. It has neither delicate flowers nor mother-in-law's posture, only iron and copper branches, hard and solid. I remember my aunt in the backyard tried to nail it, but the nail bent and didn't go into its body. Jujube trees are ugly and stubborn, and naturally they will not be the objects that people appreciate and love.
At this time, Haitang also satirized the jujube tree: "You see how beautiful I am. I am so beautiful, you will only grow taller. You don't look good. How can people like you and care about you? " You'd better leave here! "
"Why do you say that?" Jujube said politely, "Let's live in harmony. What is there to argue about? " ? "
"I'm ashamed to be with you. What are you? " Haitang said, "Let's see! One day, I will make everyone hate you! "
Jujube trees no longer pay attention to begonia. But jujube didn't relax because it was not noticed. It strives to take root deeply, absorb rich nutrients from the earth and grow sturdily. Shortly after begonia bloomed, jujube trees also pulled out green leaves, and among the green leaves were yellow-green flowers, simple and profound, secretly emitting fragrance around. In summer, lush leaves cover the burning sunshine, making people feel cool and comfortable.
No one knows when its flowers will fall out. But one day after autumn, a big red date fell and attracted people's attention. Some climbed up the tree and shook the solid branches of jujube trees; Some stood on the ground and beat them with long bamboo poles. Green dates and red dates rained down and the children ran and jumped to pick them up. Their heads are hurt by dates, and they don't want to touch them.
People can't help looking up at the naked begonia beside them while eating crisp dates. The wind and rain took away its enchanting petals, and its appearance was immediately inferior. The wind blew away the leaves of Begonia, revealing a dried fruit, which was sour and astringent when I picked it from the factory. People are very disappointed with Haitang.
A few years later, begonia has been cut down, and most of the branches of jujube trees have been cut down for building repairs. The appearance is very different from before. We enthusiastic children have grown up and have little interest in trees. However, I sometimes think of those two trees. Think of their flowering and fruiting scenes, think and ponder, and get some useful enlightenment from them. This inspiration has always inspired me.
