Association, flower viewing, chanting and singing are particularly popular social customs in Doumen in Qing Dynasty, and they are the expressions of leisure of ancient aristocratic families. Of course, ladies and gentlemen in the Grand View Garden are no exception. These poems and related plots provide us with a picture of this life. From this point of view, the value of poetry itself is not great, but as a means of shaping characters' ideological character, it still has artistic utility. Li Wan evaluated Daiyu's poems as "romantic and chic" and Baochai's poems as "subtle and vigorous", which shows that the styles are never mixed. Li Wan and Tan Chun admired Baochai, but only Baoyu preferred Daiyu. The difference of poetry criticism is also manifested in their different positions, hobbies and ideological character. Xiangyun's poems are ups and downs, which is in line with her character. This is the genius of the author. It is particularly noteworthy that most of these poems are "sentimental" and have their own interests. The author even vaguely revealed the future fate of the characters to the readers through their poems. Tan Chun's poem "My heart is a little weak" reminds people of her kite riddle "The gossamer is broken and weak". Later, she should leave by the river and sail alone (see her title). The metaphor of "immortal" and "feathering" is very similar to what Su Shi saw and felt on the Pingchuan River in Before and After the Poem on the Red Wall. The profound meaning of Baochai's poems is particularly obvious. "Cherish the beauty to hide the door in the daytime" shows Baochai's aloof and unwilling to go along with the secular! . "Rouge washes away the shadow of the autumn stage, and ice and snow draw dew to build the soul", which means being a master and a hermit to satirize the world and lead a totally clean life. . "A flower is more beautiful when it is light" refers to Baochai's personality charm, and Zhi Yanzhai immediately approved the cloud: Great! How many people can have high-spirited eyes! It's "Tonamiyama is more secluded" (Geng No.37 double-tube batch). "There is no trace of jade when you are worried." Zhi Yanzhai immediately criticized Yun: Watch him satirize Lin and Bao and save his life. (Geng's second-line criticism) The two characters here, "high-spirited eyes" and "satirizing forests and treasures", can be said to accurately express the author's intention of trying to disinfect and correct the grievances in his chest with a spirit of full understanding! Lao Zi said, "Generosity is boundless, a late bloomer, a loud voice, and an elephant is invisible." Baochai believes that "flowers are more colorful when they are light" is also based on the same philosophical principle. Then, from the perspective of "Zhuang Zong" and "Zongchan", it is undoubtedly the husband's way of the author's own concept of "being born" to gain spiritual eternity by giving up physical desires, and Baochai's advice of "you and I see clouds and smoke" and "coming and going without attachments". -After all, Cao Xueqin is not only a secular person, but also an enlightened person!
Xiang Yun's poem "Frost moths are born to like the cold", and Fat Review once told us "Don't take off our future scenery". The so-called "future scenery" means that she separated from her husband Wei soon after marriage (the sequel is different). The second songs, such as Difficult to Choose a Spouse, Candle Tears, Chang 'e, etc., all imply that she and her husband later became "white-headed binary stars" like the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. The author also wrote the implicit meaning of Xiang Yun's "heroic and open-minded" and "appropriate corner and basin", which means that she can adapt to the environment everywhere, whether she is spoiled by historians or take refuge in Jia family. In fact, this shows that she lacks the rebellious character of Daiyu. It is the author's preference to call it "magnanimous". All of these, if you want to make every poem close in many ways, it is difficult to be perfect without the author's terrible management and ingenuity.
