Léopold Sédar Senghor's personal honor

Senghor, the first Senegalese president, was an outstanding poet and an independent hero in Africa. He devoted his life to spreading black culture and improving Africa's position in the world, published a large number of literary works, and was nominated by Nobel Prize in Literature twice. He was awarded the Grand Cross of the Lion of Senegal, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor of France, the Grand Cross of the National Medal of France, the Medal of Arts and Literature of France (Senior Knight) and the Medal of Palm Leaf of academia (Senior Knight); Because he participated in the anti-fascist struggle during World War II, he was awarded the French Union Medal and the Volunteer Fighting Cross.

Senghor was awarded honorary doctorates by 37 universities including Paris University, Cairo University, Harvard University and Salamanca University. 1969, he was employed as an academician of the French Academy of Sciences and a member of the French Writers' Committee, Linguists and Writers' Association. 198 1 was accepted as a full academician by the French Academy of Overseas Sciences. 1984 was elected as a lifelong academician of the French Academy, the first black writer in the Academy, ranking 16 as an academician. This position remained vacant after his death until his "personal friend", former French President Giscard d'Estaing, filled the vacancy in 2003. Senghor is also a foreign academician of the Bavarian Institute of Communication, the French Institute of Humanities, the Bordeaux Institute of Literature and Arts, the Black Institute of Literature and Arts, the Malarme Institute and the Moroccan Academy of Sciences.

Senghor has won many international awards, Including: French Gold Award, Dag Hammarskj? ld International Poetry Award, International Federation of Writers and Composers Association Gold Award, French Poets and Artists Association Gold Award, Red and Green International Literature Award, German Book Peace Award, Rome International College of Literature Gold Award, Knock-Hester Biennale International Poetry Award, guillaume apollinaire Literature Award, First Italy Dante International Award, India's Yasan World Award, Struga Golden Ring Award for Poetry Night and The Book of Friendship are the Prince of Poetry Award of French Literature Association 1977, the Kino Delduka World Award, the IFLA- UNESCO International Book Award, the African Peace Project and Cultural Activities Award, the Alfred Devigny Award, the Athena Award of Athens, the Venice Golden Lion International Award, the Louis Michel Award of Paris, and the Le Mont of the Brittany Poetry Conference.

The facilities named after him include the Dakar-Yof-Leopold Cedal senghor International Airport in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, the Léopold Sédar Senghor Arena, the French International University in Alexandria and the Léopold Sédar Senghor Bridge on the Seine.
