Tao Yuanming was born in Taogaomen, Xunyang, Jiangzhou. Jiangzhou is a place where Confucianism thrives (1). Tao Yuanming received a good education from an early age and was familiar with Confucian classics. Later, he mentioned his childhood study in his works, saying that he was "good at swimming the Six Classics" (the sixteenth drinking). He likes to quote quotations from Confucius in The Analects of Confucius in his poems. According to statistics, there were nearly forty times, so poets who used The Analects more often were rare at that time.
