The story takes place one day in 1000 BC. In a valley in Palestine, the Philistines and the Israelites faced off. The name of the leader of the Israelites was Saul.
At this time, a big man named Goliath came out of the Philistine camp. I saw that he was tall and tall, with a strong back and strong waist, wearing a bronze helmet and armor, and carrying a bronze spear on his shoulder. Goliath strode up, stood still and shouted to the Israelite army: "You slaves of Saul, don't you want to fight the Philistines? I am a Philistine, why don't you come and fight?" Yeah? If you are a hero, send someone to fight me quickly. If he dares to fight me and kill me, we will be your servants. If I defeat him, you will be our slaves and serve us. "
Goliath shouted for a while, but no one came out. He shouted again, "Hurry up and call someone out to fight with me, otherwise you are a coward!"
In this way, Goliath came out to yell and curse every day, which made everyone in Israel tremble with fear. None of Saul's soldiers dared to go out to fight Goliath.
At this moment, a young man named David came to Saul's camp to deliver food to his brothers who were soldiers. David was a shepherd boy, handsome and smart. After meeting his three brothers, he heard someone shouting and cursing outside the military camp. After asking why, he angrily went to fight Goliath. When King Saul found out, he called David to him. David said to Saul: "Why should we be afraid of the Philistine? We should fight him!"
"This is no joke," Saul said to David , "You can't fight with the Philistines. You are too young, and Goliath has been a warrior since he was a child. He has great martial arts skills and is extremely powerful."
"I'm not afraid of him," Big David said to Saul, "While I was tending the sheep, a lion came and snatched a lamb from the flock. So I ran after him, struck him, and rescued the lamb from his mouth."< /p>
"How dare you fight a lion at such a young age?" Saul asked him, "Won't the lion bite you?"
"Bit me?" David continued, "Then I will Grab its beard and beat it to death. I have killed a lion and a bear with my bare hands. If the Philistine dares to fight against him, I will call him the same as the lion and the bear."
< p>Hearing such heroic words, Saul was moved. He said to David, "Well, you can go out and fight. May God be with you!"King Saul put his bronze helmet on David and gave him his armor. Neatly draped. David felt that the equipment was too bulky and hindered his ability to walk, so he took off his armor again and kept on his shepherd's clothing.
David went to the stream and picked up five pebbles, put them in his pocket, held a shepherd's staff and a sling whip in his hand, and then walked down the valley from the Israelite camp, approaching step by step while shouting curses. of the Philistines.
The Philistine also came towards David. Goliath saw that David had a childish face and tender skin. He was just a shepherd boy, so he didn't take him seriously.
The two men stood face to face in the valley in front of the two armies. Goliath said to David: "Shepherd doll, you come to me with a stick. Am I a dog? Are all the Israelites dead? Let a doll come out to fight!"
David said to Goliath: "You come against me with sword and spear and bronze halberd; but I against you with the help of the Lord our God."
Goliath strode over. . David also ran towards him quickly. As he ran, he took out a pebble from his pocket and put it on the sling whip. David swung it hard, and with a "chirp" sound, like a meteor, the pebble flew out and hit Goliath's forehead! Goliath yelled and fell to the ground. The Philistines were all stunned, and no one dared to come forward. David had no sword in his hand, so he stepped on Goliath, took his sword from the scabbard at Goliath's waist, cut off his head, and held his head in his hand. Seeing that the warriors who had been shouting for the battle were dead, the Philistines immediately dispersed. Saul led the Israelites to shout and pursue them. They captured several Philistine cities in one go and killed tens of thousands of Philistines.
When Saul, David and the Israelite warriors returned triumphantly from the battlefield, the Israelite women came out of the city with joy, singing and dancing to welcome King Saul and the enemy hero David. The women sang together: Saul killed thousands of his enemies! David killed thousands of enemies! David married Bathsheba, which was a serious mistake in David's life. He committed adultery with a woman who already had a husband, and he also designed to frame her husband Uriah, causing him to die in the battlefield. For the original text, see 2 Samuel Chapter 11.
One evening, David was walking on the roof of his palace and saw a woman bathing. She was very beautiful. He found out that she was Bathsheba by asking, so he sent someone to bring her to her. . Bathsheba later became pregnant.
Later, in order to cover up this scandal, David asked Joab to take Uriah to the front line, specifically letting him stay under the city wall to be shot by the enemy.
Later Bathsheba gave birth to a son for him, but because the Lord was displeased, he died after seven days. Bathsheba also gave birth to a son, whose name was Solomon and Jedidiah (2 Sam. 12:25).
