How did China's poetry develop in the 1990s?
In the 1990s, China published more than 500 kinds of poems every year, with 70,000 or 80,000 poems a year, exceeding the sum of "all Tang poems". In the 1980s, many poets avoided the impetuosity and fanaticism of "sensational effect" and turned to a relatively deep and calm development stage, moving towards the beauty of poetry with a more realistic attitude and a more personal writing style. The Complete Works of Post-Obscure Poetry (Sichuan Edition), Persisting in the Present Poetry Department (Beijing Edition) and China Poetry Yearbook are all incomplete comments. The research on the history of poetry and the construction of poetic theory have made recognized achievements, and the research on poetics is obviously ahead of novels and essays, and has inspired the latter.
