An ancient poem describing kite flying in spring

Old poems describing kite flying in spring: "Kite", "Village Dwelling", "Watching Village Children Playing on the Stream", "Paper Kite", "Wind Kite Poems", etc.

1. "Kite" by Bao Rong of the Tang Dynasty

He Xiang and Tiantong, the Yao Zheng hangs in the eye.

The colorful strings are not touching the fingers, and the brocade strings are suddenly heard by the wind.

Translation:

A group of children in red trousers flew kites together, but because there was no wind, the kites could not fly.

So he held the kite string in his hand and cursed God. Everyone praises you (God) for spring coming early, but you owe me the strong wind for flying a kite.

2. "Village Residence" Gaoding, Qing Dynasty

On a February day, the grass is growing and the orioles are flying, and the willows are brushing the embankments intoxicated by the spring smoke.

The children came back early from school and were busy flying kites in the east wind.

Translation:

In the second month of the lunar calendar, the green grass in and around the village has gradually sprouted and grown, and orioles are flying here and there. The willows are covered with long green branches, swaying in the wind, as if gently stroking the embankment.

The water vapor evaporating between the water and vegetation condenses like smoke. The willows seem to be intoxicated by this rich scenery. The children in the village hurried home after school and took advantage of the east wind to fly kites into the blue sky.

3. "Watching Village Children Playing on the Stream" by Lu You, Song Dynasty

After the rain, the stream water swept across the embankment and was leisurely watching the village children Xie Wanqing.

The bamboo horse rushes into the water, and the paper kite stalks the wind.

Translation:

After the rain, the stream overflowed the embankment and was almost level with the embankment. I took the time to watch the village children thank God for the clear sky in the evening.

Some rode bamboo horses and stumbled into the mud pit, and some flew kites, flying in the wind.

4. "Paper Kite" by Kou Zhun of the Song Dynasty

The blue sky is falling and the autumn is quiet, but the ability to fly is still weak.

The breeze is like a trustworthy one, and eventually the white clouds fly away.

Translation:

Whoever made paper kites to make the distant scenery more spectacular seems to dislike the birds for not having enough variety. (The paper kite) just relied on a line to fly in the wind, and some fools looked up to watch.

It is unlikely to reach Bixiao. When you can break the rope by chance (flying high by taking advantage of the momentum), you will feel comfortable. The whirlwind did not stir up, and the vast sea was far away. (Zhiyuan) laughed at how difficult it was for the Dapeng to take off.

5. "Poem on Wind Kite" by Xu Wei of Ming Dynasty

The wicker is rubbed with thread and cotton, and Qianxun is able to put the kite on it.

How much power the spring breeze can dissipate, and it will take the children to the sky.

Translation:

The children found wicker sticks and white catkins, kneaded them into cotton threads, twisted them into long lines, and started flying kites.

How much strength does it take for the spring breeze to send the kite to the sky? I also hope that the cultivation of the elders can take the children to the top of the blue clouds.
