The author's life:

Li Yi (about 750-830), a poet in the Tang Dynasty, was a native of Liangzhou Ancient Collection (now Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province) and later moved to Zhengzhou, Henan Province. He was a scholar in the fourth year of Dali (769) and was first appointed as Zheng County Commandant. He was not allowed to be promoted for a long time. In 783, Jianzhong was awarded the title of scholar. Frustrated in his official career, he abandoned his post and wandered around Zhao Yan. He is famous for his frontier poems, and he is good at quatrains, especially the seven verses.
