The Purpose and Emotion of Guo Moruo's Creation of Tiangou

1. This poem was written in the outbreak of Guo Moruo's new poetry creation, and it was the most passionate moment for young Guo Moruo. The style of this poem is strong, violent and tense.

At first, the poet called himself "Tiangou" and could swallow the moon, the sun and all the planets. And "I am me" is the pride brought by the full publicity of personality. Therefore, it is the poet's ode to the liberation of personality under the spirit of the May 4th Movement, and it is precisely because of the courage to overcome all the constraints on personality development that personality can be fully developed. May 4th New Talents have unlimited energy: "I am the total energy at the bottom of Yu Quan Temple!" Such a new person in the May 4th Movement will change the mountains and rivers, the earth and the universe. "I run, I scream, I burn ..." The emotional power released by the poem is like a violent hurricane and a rushing torrent, which produced a strong shock wave at that time. I Fly is an exciting cry, which fully shows the painful process of personality liberation during the May 4th Movement. In a word, Tiangou is a soul-stirring spiritual hymn played during the May 4th Movement. What people first heard from the poems of the May 4th Movement was the brave and roaring voice of the times. The heroic spirit of "Tiangou", which can devour "all planets", is precisely the spiritual reappearance of the May 4th Movement, which demands the destruction of all traditions and the old world.

Although Lao Guo wants to reflect the unprecedented tension and flight of the poet's thinking through well-known myths, he also wants to reflect the harmonious combination of the times and individuals. However, the carrier it relies on is not satisfactory, and it has a form that is inconsistent with historical traditions. So Tengu, like its prototype, can only exist in people's consciousness, and the imaginary component is far greater than the reality. Tengu is just a "Tengu".

(1) Image-building of "Tiangou";

During the May 4th Movement, when feudal barriers were broken and the banner of emancipating the mind was held high, Tiangou was the most typical and unique model work that fully embodied the spirit of this era. With peculiar imagination and extraordinary symbols, this poem has created an image of "Tiangou" with strong rebellious spirit and wild personality pursuit. With great boldness of vision and extreme exaggeration, "Tiangou" swallows the sun and the moon, looks at the universe, stands tall and shines brilliantly, spewing out the unique surging passion of literature in the May 4th era and the theme of breaking the ice and welcoming the new. The poet projected his feelings into the image of "Tiangou", compared himself directly with "Tiangou", and wrote the expansion of self-strength and the liberation of self-spirit. In the symbolic poetic image, the image of the lyric subject "I" (that is, "Tiangou") who dares to resist and rebel is created. I was born, I live in the universe, I dominate everything, I am one with the universe itself, and I am reborn through autophagy.

(2) the poet's emotional expression:

"Tiangou" is a straightforward work, which describes a magical and unique emotional experience at the peak of youth life. The first paragraph of Tiangou shows the beautiful hope of self-expansion of youth life and the romantic vision of conquering nature. Tiangou, which devours the sun, the moon and the universe, is the embodiment of the wild mentality of everything in King's Landing under the peak experience of youth life. Next, the poet further expressed all kinds of subtle feelings in the peak experience state of youth life, that is, the aesthetic realm of "drifting with the flow" and forgetting in China's traditional philosophy. Therefore, after the dog swallowed the sun, moon and stars that day, he had an illusion: "I am the light at the end of the month,/I am the light under the sun,/I am the light under all planets …" The youthful vitality in the peak experience state seems to be in a state of fission, as if "a kind of heat, an agitation, a burning pain", "peeling his skin, eating his flesh and sucking his blood". It seems to run through his nerves, spinal cord and brain, but the endurance of his own body is very limited after all, and the poet's imagination of youthful vitality will eventually detonate itself and shoot everywhere. ...

(3) The characteristics of poetic language:

Wen Yiduo compared writing poetry to dancing in chains. Lu Xun said, "Poetry must be in form, easy to remember, easy to understand, easy to sing and beautiful". Guo Moruo doesn't think so. He said: "The spirit of poetry is in its internal rhythm", that is, "the emotion naturally rises and falls". As for the external forms of poetry, such as language, it is just like clothes. "No matter whether poetry is old or new, as long as it is a real beauty, it is better to wear clothes than not to wear clothes!" "Tiangou" is the ultimate creation of Guo Moruo's poetic concept. It does not talk about the "form" of poetry at all, and does not consider the "brave singing" of poetry at all. It's an expression of feelings. I'm in a hurry to say anything, and it's nonsense. There are twenty-nine lines in the poem, and each line begins with "I", which is monotonous and scattered, ignoring the aesthetic expectation of China readers to sing in a low voice and sing three sighs. The whole poem is a loud cry, which suddenly rises with the rise and stops! This monotonous sentence pattern from beginning to end strengthens the whole chain of the whole poem in one go, while the rough language of unprinted nonsense strengthens and highlights the strength of the poem, refuses to package, directly reveals naked feelings and is easier to communicate with readers. In this way, the whole poem is integrated, breaking through the earth's crust like fiery magma and erupting like a volcano; Another example is the debris flow at the top of Tianshan Mountain, which is surging, roaring and rushing down like a note ... with great impact and shock!

(4) the poet's strange imagination:

The image of Tiangou is vague in legend, but it is transformed into an image of "I" with unlimited energy and fully liberated personality in poetry. He swallowed the moon for a while, the sun for a while, and all the planets for a while, becoming the light at the end of the month, the light at the end of the sun, and the light at the end of all the planets, and then flying, screaming, burning, flying on the nerves, spinal cord and brain, all showed the freedom and liberation of the poet.

However, this modern man with independent personality and freedom is not an arrogant and ignorant madman. He is a modern intellectual who has truly felt the pulse of the times and mastered advanced scientific knowledge. He knows astronomy (moon, sun, planets and universe), modern medicine (X-rays, nerves and spinal cord) and physics (energy and electricity). At the same time, Tengu's "peeling", "eating", "eating" and "gnawing" showed his criticism and brave denial. The poet used "Tiangou" to express his thought of getting rid of the old and innovating and demanding the liberation of personality.
