How to Evaluate Juzhen Imitation Song Font

Looking back at the beginning of the last century, in 19 15, Ding and Ding Fuzhi collected the font length of seal cutting in the Song Dynasty, and at the same time, referring to the stroke design of imitation Song characters in the Qing Dynasty's Instructions on Governing the Country, they hired famous seal carvers Xu Xixiang and Zhu Yibao at that time to jointly carve type, and created "Juzhen Imitation Song Style", which was later regarded as modern imitation Song Style.

Commenting on this font, Qi Li, a senior font designer of Founder Font Library, said, "The thickness is similar, the style is delicate and even, and it is unique and colorful. It is very wonderful to use it to print poetry collections and classical literary heritage. " At the same time, Qi Li also pointed out the problems existing in Ju Zhen's imitation of Song Style: "For example, the size, center of gravity, the aesthetics of fonts, the rigor of structure, the completion of production, and the' forward direction' between words need to be improved."

It is precisely because of the profound changes of the times and aesthetics that even the exquisite imitation of the Song Dynasty can not meet the needs of contemporary printing and typesetting without breakthrough and innovation. At this time, more and more designers began to look at the original Ju Zhen imitation of Song Dynasty and design more modern imitation of Song Dynasty fonts. Imitation Song Dynasty is one of the main fonts in Chinese, but it is not used as frequently as Song Dynasty and regular script. In fact, the imitation of Songti that we saw on the computer was processed by the font designer according to ancient works, and some details were deleted to make the font smoother, but it lost the charm of some font prototypes.
