[Qing] The original text, notes and appreciation of Nalan Xingde's Who Picks Mulberry Seeds to Turn over the Bleak Songs of Yuefu

Pick mulberry seeds (who turned over the bleak music of Yuefu).

Nalanxingde

Original text:

Who turns over the bleak music of Yuefu, the wind is rustling. The rain is rustling. Another night of death. I don't know what bothers me, but I was bored when I woke up. Drunk and bored. I never dreamed of going to Xie Qiao.

Precautions:

1. Mulberry seed picking: also known as Ugly Slave Order, Rove Yan Ge and Luo Fumei. Tang Jiaofang's Daqu includes Mulberry Picking under Yang, and Nan Zhuo's Jiegu Record includes Mulberry Picking under Cool. This two-tone poem is taken from Gai Daqu. Forty-four words, three rhymes.

2. Turn over Yuefu: Turn over and fill in new words according to the old tune; Yuefu is a kind of music institution that came into being in Qin and Han Dynasties. Later, as the name of a poetic style, it also refers to the poetry of entering music. Because Ci is originally music literature, there are aliases such as Yuefu and Quzi Ci. Here Yuefu refers to words. Turning Yuefu is the lyrics.

3. Xie Qiao: Li Deyu, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, had a concubine named Xie Qiuniang, who was a famous geisha at that time. Later, "Xie Niang" was often used to refer to geisha in poetry. Xie Qiao is a small bridge near Xie Jia. Later generations often call lovers "Xie Niang" and lovers "Xie Jia" and "Xie Qiao".

Appreciate:

This word is sad and sad, expressing the poet's lovesickness. "I lost another night in snuff", and the poet was sleepless all night because of lovesickness; "The dream has not reached Xie Qiao", paraphrasing the meaning of Yan, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, "The soul of the dream is used to picking it up freely and has spent it in Xie Qiao". It's just that there is a dream soul to comfort the lovesickness described in Yan Ci, which can make the unrestrained dream visit Xie Qiao where the lover lives again and again with the poet's thoughts, but the sadness of Sex Ci can't even comfort the dream. "The dream has not reached Xie Qiao", even the dream is hindered by the realistic distance. How to comfort the poet's lovesickness? It is no wonder that predecessors commented that "Rong Ruo's poems are sad and stubborn, and some people can't bear to read them" (Postscript to Tan Yingying's Elegant Edition of Drinking Water Collection). Li Qingzhao, a poetess in the Song Dynasty, was nicknamed "Li Sanshou" because she wrote three classic sentences with the word "thin": "new to thin, not dry wine, not sad autumn"; "I know, I know, it should be green and fat and red and thin"; "Mo Tao is not charming, the curtain rolls west wind, and people are thinner than yellow flowers." There are also three "thinness" in sexual virtue, which can be compared with "Li Sanshou": one is "skinny for another night in snuff", the other is "born with pity, lost for a penny" and the third is "skinny for spring". These three "thinness" show the poet's melancholy and haggard.
