The most famous poem in Hongshan

The most famous poem describing Yingshanhong is "One call, one ileum, one rest, three bars in March." From the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai's "Look at the Rhododendron in Xuancheng".

Original: Shu once smelled birds and Xuancheng saw azaleas. One is called, one is ileum, one is broken, and March is three memories.

In my distant hometown, I have heard the plaintive cries of Zigui birds; Now in Xuancheng, a foreign land, I see azaleas in full bloom. Zi Gui cried sadly, which made people sad. In late spring March, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant, and the wanderer misses his hometown Sanba.

There are two main views on the creation time of this poem. According to Pei Fei's Compendium of Li Bai's Chronicle, this poem was written in the spring of Tianbao 14th year of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (755), when Li Bai was in Xuancheng County. Another view is represented by Xue Tianwei, who believes that this poem was written after Li Bai was pardoned after returning from exile. When writing this poem, Li Bai was already in his later years.

Appreciation of Rhododendron Works in Xuancheng

This poem is caused by feeling things. "Shu once smelled birds and Xuancheng also saw azaleas." In late spring and March, Li Bai, who was staying in Xuancheng, suddenly felt that his dim eyes were red. On closer inspection, it turned out that the azaleas were in bloom. This cuckoo seems to be the flower of my hometown. The poet's homesickness was touched in this way.

One or two sentences in the poem form a natural antithesis, which truly reproduces the process of touching homesickness from the comparison and connection between geography and time. The word order of these two sentences is reversed. It turned out that I saw the azaleas in Xuancheng first, and then I thought of the Zigui birds in Shu. However, the poet turned it upside down, writing the virtual scene in memory first, and then writing the real scene in front of him.
