Georges braque

Georges braque (1882— 1963) is a French cubist painter.

During georges braque's long painting career, mandolin appeared on his canvas many times.

In 19 10, georges braque painted the mandolin. The geometric figures in the picture are layered on top of each other, drowning the original appearance of the mandolin. However, with the disappearance of musical instruments, the author's ideas gradually surfaced.

Through the picture, we seem to see the music played by the mandolin, and the shape, color, light and rhythm are intertwined. Three days of twists and turns, as georges braque himself said, "The echo should follow the echo, and everything rings."

Many cubist painters like to use musical instruments as the theme of painting. Picasso also painted The Girl Playing the Mandolin.

So what is the essence of mandolin?

Maybe we can find the answer from malamei's poems.

In Malamei's poems, the mandolin is a symbol with multiple metaphors.

Mandolin, a plucked instrument originated in Italy, is regarded as the symbol of artistic creation and the mother of creation because of its womb-like shape.

The deconstruction and reconstruction of art in cubist painting coincides with the decomposition and reconstruction of words in Malamei's poems. Perhaps because of some kind of spiritual singing and mutual appreciation, they have the same preference for the metaphorical subject of mandolin.

In the window.-That window is hidden.

The golden faded ancient ebony of violin,

It used to be accompanied by flute or mandolin.

Glowing violin—

This is a pale saint, she spread out and wrote

Ancient hymns, hymns spread out-

It used to be at evening prayers or night classes.

A hymn that floats from time to time,

She leaned against the glass of the Eucharist box,

Touched lightly by a harp, a harp

Shaped by the flight of destiny's night

Because of the softness of her fingers,

No ancient ebony, no ancient books.

She shook her finger.

On a feather instrument

A silent female musician.

This thorough decomposition and reconstruction completely abandoned the painting technique of the depicted object shape, which is a classic painting style in the period of analytical cubism.

The object of deconstruction is not limited to mandolin. In georges braque's works, everything is broken down into elements and transformed into a brand-new picture.

With the passage of time, georges braque was no longer satisfied with analyzing the monotonous colors and the overall effect of cubism.

He began to try new possibilities.

For example, letters and numbers are introduced into painting as patterns.

For example, draw realistic wood grain and marble grain as a transition.

For example, painting is done by collage, and things that are not regarded as artistic materials, such as paper, newspapers and sawdust, are introduced into painting.

So mandolin became an introduction.

Through these attempts, georges braque re-emphasized the form and overall effect of painting, and gradually enriched the color of his works. His painting style has changed from analytical cubism to comprehensive cubism, and he has a deeper understanding of the relationship between things and painting.

During the period of comprehensive cubism, georges braque realized the balance between concrete objects and abstract structures, and began to be good at expressing his thoughts with materials, instead of clinging to any party, he only took what he needed.

Georges braque's works in his later years became diversified, with rich colors and changeable techniques.

Georges braque had a great influence on western modern art in the 20th century. Picasso juxtaposed him with the writer James Joyce, calling them "the two most suspicious people who are understood by everyone".

In his later years, georges braque created two important series of works, Studio and Birds.

Influenced by Fauvism, georges braque initiated cubism in his early years. After the baptism of analytical cubism and comprehensive cubism, his works tend to be successful in his later years.

Georges braque painted a sunflower in his later years. Through the picture, we can see how it is different from Van Gogh's Sunflower, and whether we can feel the inheritance and development of art from it.

Across time and space, masters of art stand on the shoulders of countless "giants" and grow into new "giants", pushing art to new heights again and again. The unremitting efforts of artists from generation to generation, the continuous blending and progress of techniques and concepts can make the flower of art never fade.
