"A Gift to Wang Lun" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
Li Bai was about to set off in a boat when he suddenly heard singing on the shore.
The water in Peach Blossom Pond is a thousand feet deep, not as deep as Wang Lun’s love for me.
Translation:
I was on the boat and just about to unmoor and set off when I suddenly heard the melodious sound of singing from the shore.
Look at the Peach Blossom Pond, even though it is a thousand feet deep, how can it be as emotional as Wang Lun’s sending me off?
"Yellow Crane Tower Sends Meng Haoran to Guangling" Tang·Li Bai
The old friend bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and fireworks descended from Yangzhou in March.
The shadow of the lone sail in the distance is gone in the blue sky, and only the Yangtze River can be seen flowing in the sky.
Translation:
My old friend waved goodbye to the Yellow Crane Tower, and went on a long trip to Yangzhou in March when catkins were like smoke and flowers were blooming.
The shadow of the friend's lone boat gradually moved away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky. Only a line of the Yangtze River was seen, rushing towards the distant sky.
"Drinking with a Stranger in the Mountains" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
The two drank together while the mountain flowers bloomed, one cup after another.
I am drunk and want to sleep, please go away. I will bring Qin to you tomorrow morning.
Translation:
The two of us drank together among the blooming mountain flowers, one cup after another. It was really fun.
I'm drunk and want to sleep. You can leave on your own. If the fun is not over, come back tomorrow morning with Qin in your arms.
"Send Off a Friend" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
Green mountains stretch across Beiguo, and white water surrounds the east city.
This place is different, and I have to conquer thousands of miles.
The wandering clouds convey the love of an old friend.
I waved my hand and went away, the horse roared.
Translation:
Green mountains lie on the north side of the city wall, and sparkling water surrounds the east side of the city.
Here we say goodbye to each other. You are like a solitary tent fluttering in the wind, traveling thousands of miles away.
The floating clouds are as unpredictable as wanderers, and the setting sun slowly sets down the mountain, seeming to be nostalgic.
They waved and parted. The horse that his friend was riding that was about to carry him on a long journey roared loudly, as if he couldn't bear to leave.
"Send a Friend to Sichuan" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
I saw that the silkworm road was rugged and difficult to travel.
The mountain rises from the human face, and the clouds rise from the horse's head.
The fragrant trees cage Qinzhan, and the spring flow surrounds the city of Shu.
The ups and downs should have been determined, so there is no need to ask Jun Ping.
Translation:
I heard that the road from here to Shu is rugged and difficult to pass.
