There is always a flaw in love in Yu Xiuhua's poems, but it is very touching with sincere language, and this "River Bed" is no exception.

At the beginning of the poem, shallow water indicates the appearance of river bed. At the same time, it gives life to individuals in the river bed, saying that they don't care how many fish and fallen flowers there are.

Among them, fish is a dynamic moving creature, and falling flowers are the image of fatigue after blooming. Together, the two imply not only the passing of the season, but also the skinny grandmother in the next poem, that is, aging and dying.

Grandma in the poem, to a certain extent, is Yu Xiuhua herself, which means that grandma gave everything in her life to the poet himself, sleeping screws, mottled wooden beds, which also contain aging.

In the poem, the sleeping screw may represent the poet's ideal of sleeping, his weakness after tenacious resistance to life, and his mottled wooden bed are his obedience to ordinary life. In a word, these images are flawed, outdated and decadent.
