Look up at the red sun and look back at the low white clouds.
There is only blue sky above Huashan Mountain, and no mountain in the world is even with it. Looking up at the top of the mountain, you can see how close the red sun is. In retrospect, you even think the white clouds are very low.
Ode to Huashan is a five-character quatrain written by Kou Zhun, Minister of Northern Song Dynasty. This poem describes the majestic Huashan Mountain, with people at the peak and white clouds at the foot. It is indomitable and colorful. This poem is rigorous in layout, clear in sentence meaning, accurate in language and broad in weather. In a few words, it shows the grandeur and preciseness of Huashan Mountain. Although language is simple, its beauty lies in its extraordinary momentum and rich connotation.
Background: This poem was written in Kou Zhun's early years. There are two views about his creative opportunity. The first statement: Kou Zhun studied very hard when he was a child, paying attention to observing and studying things around him. The towering Huashan Mountain is close to his home. In the spring when he was seven years old, his father took him to Huashan. Little Kou Zhun was very happy. When they climbed to the height of Huashan Mountain, they saw that the Weihe River was a strip and the mountain was very small, with a panoramic view of the Qinchuan River in 800 miles. Kou Zhun Jr. wrote this five-character quatrain "Yong Hua Shan" easily and poetically.
The second way of saying it: When Kou Zhun was a child, his father gave a big banquet to the guests, and the guests invited Kou Zhun Jr. to write poems on the nearby Huashan Mountain. Kou Zhun paced in front of the guests and thought about it. In the third step, I casually sang the first five-character quatrain "Huashan on Sword".
