Why is Jia Jian a wonderful work in poetry and literature?
Because Jia Jian is the ancestor of eternal sadness. The stories in it are all sad. From the poem Jiaxu, we can see that the ancient poets in China were not satisfied with the status quo emotionally, nor were they constrained by reality. Instead, they have their own goals, hopes and pursuits, and their hopes and pursuits often end in failure and frustration, so their emotional structure is manifested as such a model or artistic framework: hope (concrete and ethereal goals)-. These three factors are interrelated. Although there is a perfect ideal, there are insurmountable obstacles in the pursuit. Knowing that the obstacles are insurmountable, we still have to pursue them, and the outcome will inevitably be failure and frustration, which will become a tragedy. Because there must be obstacles in pursuit, obstacles will lead to failure, and failure will lead to pain. Pursuit is the root of pain. It is absolutely impossible not to pursue because there is pain, because pursuit is human nature and an innate and unchangeable instinct. In this sense, Jia Xu has gone far beyond the scope of love tragedy. In a broad sense, Qu Yuan's political tragedy is also a kind of "Jia Xu". Qu Yuan's ambition is very lofty, with morality, speech and merit as his personality design and American politics as his highest political ideal. In the process of pursuing this ideal, Qu Yuan encountered obstacles from the king and party member, and he could not break through this obstacle, which eventually led to a tragic fate. Its tragic mode is also like Jiaqu, that is, "hope-pursuit-failure". Therefore, "Jiaxu" is one of the tragic modes of human beings, which has always existed in human society. No wonder the tragic structure of "Jia Jian" frequently appears in China literati's poems. The Book of Songs is China's first collection of realistic poems, which has a great influence on China's poems. Scholars have borrowed a lot from subjects, structures and techniques. Scholars of all ages have attached great importance to the study of The Book of Songs, and there are thousands of books to study The Book of Songs, from which poets have also been inspired.
