Since ancient poems were produced before the Tang Dynasty, there is no need to pay attention to flat and even (some pay attention to flat and even, but few). In order to make this kind of poems more catchy, people in the Tang Dynasty added the concept of rhyme, but the requirements for it were also very loose. In an ancient poem, the author can change the rhyme at will according to his own needs (that is, he can start with the rhyme of one rhyme and change the rhyme of other rhymes later according to his own needs), so an ancient poem may put a lot of rhymes (only a few poems with one rhyme in the end). In addition, there is no limit to the number of sentences in classical poetry, but also depends on the author's own needs.
Characteristics of classical poetry
Some people may say that classical poetry is better than metrical poetry, but it is not; Poetry (no matter what kind of poetry style at home and abroad) pays attention to innovation. As far as metrical poetry is concerned, if the conception is slightly inferior and the sentences are neat and novel, it is still worth seeing (of course, metrical poetry also pursues conception, just taking a step back); If an ancient poem has no new ideas, the whole poem will be dull. In this sense, writing modern poetry is not an easy task.
Classification of ancient poems
As mentioned above, from the poetic form, ancient poetry can be roughly divided into five-character ancient style, seven-character ancient style and Yuefu style (also known as miscellaneous style). The five-character archaic style is characterized by five characters (five words in a sentence), the seven-character archaic style is characterized by seven characters (seven words in a sentence), and the length of each sentence in Yuefu style is different.
The prosodic features of classical poetry
There is no need to pay attention to leveling in ancient poetry. Although there are no restrictions on rhyme, there are still some rules that can be used as reference (of course, these rules may not be followed, but also depends on the needs of the author).
One is to rhyme at the turning point of meaning; When the meaning of the narrative changes, it is often necessary to turn to other rhymes, so that the tone is strengthened, the level of the whole story is clear, and it seems to be patchwork.
Second, when describing the meaning of happiness and excitement, we often use flat rhyme; When describing the meaning of sadness and anger, we often use rhyme.
Third, in addition to even sentences, odd sentences can also rhyme (except the first sentence in a metrical poem, odd sentences can't rhyme).
