Poetry appreciation

The desperate image of "stagnant water" in the poem symbolizes the old China under the rule of Beiyang warlord government. The author describes the ugly "cultivated" world in a beautiful way, and shows the ugly appearance of stagnant water and the essence of mildew and corruption with rich, dense and concrete images.

At the end of the poem, he wrote, "This is by no means a beautiful place. /It is better to leave it to ugliness to cultivate,/and see what world he has created. " This is the author's angry words. Let ugliness be cultivated, that is, let it rot and die quickly, and express the feelings of hating ugly things.
