Reflections on the Odyssey

Reading Homer's epic began with the narration of writer Mu Xin, and his students published Memoirs of Literature. First, I bought literary memoirs, most of which I haven't read, and then I bought Homer's epic Iliad and Odyssey after discussing with my daughter. Under normal circumstances, I should look at the former before the latter. Because they are related, because my daughter reads the Iliad, so I have to read the Odyssey.

After watching the Odyssey last night, I wrote my own reading experience while the iron was hot. This book was not read in vain.

The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus coming home. As for the six-step new poetic style used in the article, I looked it up because I didn't understand it very well.

A line containing six steps in a poem is usually an ascending and descending ('∩∩) case, that is, a stressed syllable is followed by two unstressed syllables. In ancient Greek and Latin poems, especially in epics, it is the main meter to promote and suppress the six-tone verse.

Homer's epic adopts six-step short grid (that is, raising and suppressing grid), taking its long front and short back trend.

Of course, while reading the Odyssey, I also tried to write some short poems. The whole poem is so short that I can only read one volume to express my feelings at that time. What I call poetry is only written independently.

Reading Odyssey makes me sigh that the original poem is concise and fluent, and his preciseness, conciseness and enthusiasm are vividly on the paper. There are many repetitions in the poem, but they are not in conflict, which strengthens the thickness of the poem and the characterization of the characters in the poem.

The whole poem "Odyssey" expresses a meaning, "Go home". The bright line in the poem tells the story of all kinds of hardships Odysseus went home in order to pave the way for reunion with his wife and children and revenge on shameless pursuers, so that the world can understand that selfishness, hatred and greed don't even know how they died, let alone choose to die. The dark line is inseparable from God's help from beginning to end. Whoever God likes is the one who is saved. People at that time had limitations and could only rely on myths to express their good wishes. However, this is also the limitation of the times. People love peace, long for beautiful love and look forward to family reunion, which has not changed since ancient times.
