It summarizes the Confucian musical aesthetic thoughts in the pre-Qin period and became the standard for musical aesthetic principles and music creation in feudal societies of all subsequent dynasties. and principles, which have had a profound impact on the development of music in our country for more than two thousand years.
Overview of "Yue Ji": There were originally 23 or 24 chapters, 11 of which are now preserved, and are preserved in some chapters of "Book of Rites" and "Historical Records". There are many academic debates about its author and the year when it was written. One theory is that it was written by Gongsun Nizi, a second disciple of Confucius, and the other is that it was written by Liu Xiang and Liu Xin, their father and son. No matter which theory is used, the academic community agrees that the book mainly reflects the ideology of the pre-Qin era. His book takes music as a representative and makes a relatively systematic summary of the aesthetic thoughts in the entire art field in the pre-Qin era, mainly including four aspects.
