This is Kamina Brana's opening chorus "Bran's Song, Oh, Fortuna-Oh, Goddess of Destiny".

As a lover of classical music, Jackson chose the opening chorus "Oh, Fortuna" ("Oh, Goddess of Destiny") of the opera "Carmina Brana", which was handed down by the famous German composer carl orff (1895.7. 10-6558).

Lyrics:

(Latin)

Oh, Fortuna

Velut Luna

Variable state,

Forever new moon

Aut decree;

Vita hates it.

nunc obdurat

Harmony with nature

ludo mentis aciem,

egestatem,

Potstein

Dissolve glaciers.

Sors immanis

et inanis,

Voluntary action,

Status apple,

Wana salus

Soluble semper,

obumbrata

et velata

Mickey Quaker Ni tyreese;

nunc per ludum

Bare back

fero tui sceleris。

Sors salutis

et virtutis

I object

act impetuously

et defectus

Semper in Angola.

Hac in hora

Sinusoidal mora

Kedai gangue;

Strings;

Quota per piece of goods

sternit fortem,

Oh, my God!

(English)

Oh, wealth,

Like the moon

You are changeable,

Is it waxed?

And weaken;

Hateful life

First oppress

Then appease

Imagine;

poverty

And power

It melts them like ice.

Fate-terrible

Empty,

Your spinning wheel,

You are vicious,

Happiness is illusory.

Always disappear without a trace,

follow the tracks of

Wear a veil

You also torture me;

Now through the game

I'm naked.

To your evil deeds.

Fate is against me.

in good condition

And virtue,

Keep moving

And increase the weight,

Always enslaved.

So at this time,

immediately

Pluck the vibrating strings;

Since fate

Knocked down the puller,

Everyone cries with me!

Chinese translation:

Goddess of Destiny (* also translated as "wheel of fortune")

Oh, fate, impermanence.

Like the moon.

Sometimes full moon, sometimes incomplete.

Damn life.

Rough first, then smooth.

Like being played by fate.

Whether poor or strong.

Will eventually dissolve and disappear like ice.

The fate of absurd vanity

You big ship that never stops moving.

Vicious and cruel

The happiness of life becomes empty in an instant.

You hide in the shadows to cover.

Give me pain and suffering, and now I have to gamble my luck.

Ask you for justice with your bare hands.

Fate is against me

Health and virtue are not mine.

Depression and frustration enslave my heart.

Please don't hesitate at this moment.

Pluck the strings of terror at once.

Because fate has defeated the strong.

Everyone can only cry with me.

Carmena Blana Opera House

1803, a manuscript containing 200 medieval poems and music works was found in a monastery in Bavaria, southern Germany. The manuscript is written in Latin. From 65438 to 0847, a Bavarian scholar carefully edited and arranged the manuscript in the name of Song of Bran. Carl orff began to compose Song of Bran at the age of 42, and he also incorporated a lot of poems into Happy, which is a classic song for soloists and choirs. Undoubtedly, Song of Bran symbolizes a kind of belief and totem. One of the main symbols of Song of Bran is the wheel of fate, which is in sharp contrast with the gloomy fate. It includes three scenes: human beings wake up in spring; Received a gift from nature; Reach the ultimate in wine and love. Carl orff's music can resonate with lonely hearts in every corner of the world.

Song of bran

The whole process is very fateful, and the long river of 600 years was firmly penetrated at that moment.

In Bojland, benedikt, a small town in the southern alps Valley to Munich, there is an ancient monastery built in 740. Because it is remote and secretive, it is rarely damaged by war and other natural and man-made disasters. /kloc-At the beginning of the 9th century, archaeologists discovered a large number of medieval poetry manuscripts written in Latin, Old German and Old French in this monastery. The date of these manuscripts is 1280. When was this poem written? Maybe earlier.

This poem has been waiting for many years. If it premiered at 1937, it would have been at least 657 years. This is a collection of poems-a manuscript of a monastery. The concept of this "manuscript" is somewhat similar to the manuscript of A Dream of Red Mansions-according to the text of the Oxford Music Dictionary, it is "a student song whose nature is addicted to drinking, women and love." These poems are obviously written by clergy, down-and-out literati and vagrants, and their bohemian spirit, praise of decadent lifestyle and ruthless ridicule of feudal society are surprising. It is a miracle that this kind of erotic poems appeared in the Middle Ages centered on Christian culture, and it is even more shocking that the unknown authors of these poems are monks and other church figures. So it was later called "medieval Latin lyric poetry". Of course, drinking, women and love written in this collection of poems are drinking, women and love 600 years ago. Very essential, almost not the kind of drinking and women that modern people feel, not so unbearable.

This collection of poems has been hidden for six centuries, waiting for six centuries in a rough cloth bag, under a damp mattress, or in a dusty teaching document. It was not until carl orff sat down that he knew that a pair of wings of music would take him to the secular world.

Such a musician, when he first read this collection of poems, was immediately shocked and attracted by its touching power, especially the song "Wheel of Destiny" at the beginning gave him great enthusiasm, which made him immediately have the idea of creating a musical work with these poems. After careful consideration, he selected 24 poems with the most secular feelings and arranged them into three parts, namely, the first part praised nature, the second part sang in pubs, and the third part praised love.

Together with the fate of the queen of the world that runs through from beginning to end, it just constitutes the whole of Song of Bran. Orff labeled this work as "secular songs accompanied by soloists, choirs and instrumental Muqiao for magical scenery", and called it "Cantata", demanding that it be performed in the form of stage works. Its huge establishment includes soprano, tenor and baritone solos, chorus with chorus and children's chorus, and large orchestra with two pianos and various percussion instruments. In actual performances, it is often accompanied by scenes of scenery and clown dancing.

In Song of the Bran, Orff shows highly personalized creative characteristics and unique writing methods. He used very simple techniques, only simple melody and powerful rhythm throughout, and abandoned complex ways such as counterpoint and music theme development. Simplicity and conciseness in music are impressive. The vocal part only uses the same degree, octave, third degree or fifth degree, and the tone is simple and easy to understand. Orff even abandoned the principle of variation and often replaced it with a single constant repetition. The tonal color is also very bright, avoiding complex chords, and only a few times there are tone sandhi. The melody language of the works covers a wide range, from single melody songs and folk songs to flamingo (a Spanish dance music, mucho sound) songs and romantic operas, which embodies a colorful face. In the 1930s, when music creation techniques became more and more complicated, it was unique to use such a simple writing method, which was inseparable from the quaint spiritual elements in the theme of the work. The composer tried to use this music to reproduce the ideological content contained in poems hundreds of years ago, and showed the rhythm of ancient poems with a strong sense of rhythm and beautiful melody, which had a strong effect.

We can't say that Orff accurately reproduced what happened in the13rd century, and there was no time channel to take it all back. But an ancient poem has indeed been reborn in Orff's music, which is based on the imagination and creativity of musicians. Where there is imagination, there is the past. It cannot be confirmed in the past, and there is no need to confirm it.
