The original text of "Jiangnan Spring" is as follows:
Thousands of miles away, the orioles are singing, the green is reflected in red, and the wine flags are blowing in the mountains and rivers of water.
There are four hundred and eighty temples in the Southern Dynasties, and many towers are in the mist.
Vernacular translation: The sounds of birds chirping in the south of the Yangtze River are complemented by green grass and red flowers, and wine flags are fluttering everywhere in the villages near the water and in the city walls at the foot of the mountains. There are more than 480 ancient temples and countless towers left over from the Southern Dynasties, all shrouded in wind, smoke, clouds and rain.
As far as the influential college textbooks in the new era are concerned, "History of Chinese Literature" edited by You Guoen and others, and "History of Chinese Literature" edited by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences both regard this poem as a representative of Du Mu's poetry. Analysis of the work, "Introduction to Literature" edited by Tong Qingbing also interprets the poem as an example of literary language organization.
Appreciation of the whole poem
"Jiangnan Spring" is a poem written by Du Mu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. The poem not only depicts the beautiful spring scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, but also reproduces the misty and rainy scenery in the south of the Yangtze River. The scenery from the balcony makes the Jiangnan scenery even more magical and confusing, giving it a unique flavor. The charming Jiangnan, touched by the poet's wonderful pen, becomes even more heart-stirring.
The four sentences in this poem are all landscape language. There are many images and scenery, including plants and animals, sounds and colors. The whole poem depicts a vivid, colorful and heroic Jiangnan Spring picture with brisk words and very general language. It presents a profound and beautiful artistic conception and expresses strands of implicit and profound emotions, and has enjoyed a high reputation for thousands of years.
