Assimilation is to understand the unknown with one's own known system within the framework of self-knowledge system, and bring new knowledge and experience into the old framework. So is the so-called "I note the Six Classics". The disadvantage of this method is that it is easy to dismember the uniqueness and vitality of the learning object. Even if you learn more, you will interpret the classics by yourself, which will not expand your mind and vision, nor will you have real self-transcendence and growth.
In terms of adult learning, assimilation is a common way. People often use the known to understand the unknown, which is a deep-rooted habit of self-awareness. Therefore, the spiritual life of most adults has taken shape, and they will not expand and grow endlessly like children.
Adaptation is the opposite process. That is, the so-called "six classics note me", this process is too dangerous, and it is easy to lose self-creativity and vitality and become an armchair bookworm. Modern education has trained such talents in batches.
Because of this, Confucius and his old people especially emphasized the balance between them: "Learning without thinking is disconsolate, thinking without learning is lazy", "Quality is better than literature, history is better than literature, softness is soft, and then a gentleman". But it's easier said than done, and it's a sigh through the ages!
2. How does nature learn?
In fact, in addition to these two ways, there is another way called superposition, which is to superimpose the system on the system. This is the more important way. The study of general system theory proves that on a large time scale, the general law of system evolution or evolution is completed by superposition-that is, superimposing new systems on the system. This is the composition and evolution of our bodies; The physical world, life system and ecosystem outside the body also evolved and developed in this way. Moreover, this is the only way of evolution that occurs on a large scale in time.
The development and evolution with lasting vitality are all carried out through Tongji. The old will not be abandoned, but will be incorporated into the new and greater harmonious system and become a more basic part of the new whole. This is also what The Doctrine of the Mean says: "Everything breeds without harming each other, and Tao goes hand in hand without contradicting each other", which is a kind of natural wisdom and the last word of life evolution.
Step 3 chant and enlighten
I believe that superposition is also a more important way of learning and life growth. And learning the classic reading method is such a method. It makes the construction process of our spiritual system, in addition to the self-system, constantly superimpose the classic system.
Reading scripture is actually a process of reciting scripture repeatedly. Behind this is the belief and respect for tradition and the wisdom of the ancients. Because of piety, reading is solemn and fun. I have been chanting for a long time, and I may even have witnessed the intersection of Taoism and entered the samadhi behind the words. The so-called "spiritual contact" is a feeling, an epiphany, and it is comfortable.
I think Kong Yan's joy also has this joy. And this loss of respect and sincerity has become what people call rote learning today. Bitterness is also among them.
The core of reading aloud is not to lose yourself, to chant under the observation of self-awareness, to concentrate wholeheartedly and sincerely. The so-called "sincerity makes the stone open" and the so-called "it's no use talking from the heart and shouting" are all intentional experiences of the ancients.
In fact, reading aloud, as an important and even core learning method, has always been advocated by our ancients. The so-called "reading a book a hundred times, its meaning is self-evident." This is not only a learning method for children, but also a basic method for us adults. In particular, classic learning, through repeated reading and chanting, can achieve memory, engraved in the heart, and gradually enlightened, which is the basis for inheriting cultural wisdom and carrying forward the past. Among them, there is also the theme of "taking history as a mirror" as Song said.
One of the three difficulties in life mentioned by the ancients is "it is difficult to meet a wise teacher". Even if sages walk all over the street, how can they know without an epiphany in life? So what?
Repeated reading and enlightenment is a relatively safe learning route. Besides, I really don't know: how can we open our hearts without the guidance and illumination of external classics? Even if you are enlightened, how can you ensure that you don't use this heart by mistake and go astray?
4. Don't understand, be comfortable in it
The fundamental principle of reading is: don't understand, but print it in your heart. The original intention of the classics, the words of sages or everyone, even if simple, may not be understandable.
Understanding is to interpret the object with your limited experience. If the object is isomorphic with the self-system, if it is a completely heterogeneous existence outside the self-system, the understanding will only be "I note the six classics", and I only see myself in my heart, but it is a classic life that dismembers death. Just like "A Dream of Red Mansions", "The benevolent sees benevolence, the wise sees wisdom, Confucianism sees Taoism, reason sees reason, affection sees affection, and color sees color." One understanding also sacrifices other understandings, which is actually a misunderstanding of the classics.
I personally have many such experiences. When the United States attacked Iraq, according to pessimistic reports, the pollution of the war may worsen the geographical environment of the Middle East and even half the world for decades. One night, when I read a narration in the classic "Blessing a Healthy Family", I stayed there-I suddenly realized that after reading this sentence for more than ten years, this "home" is by no means my own small family! But a human family! Even: the whole ecological environment is people and big families! "If the skin doesn't exist, the hair will stick to it." In this era, how can the well-being of a person and a family be above others? !
In the classics, there are the laws of heaven and man realized by the ancients, information from the collective unconscious, rich and subtle experiences, and life and social experiences condensed by blood and tears, many of which are beyond their own understanding limits. Zhuangzi said that "summer insects are hard to talk about but ice". The process of life begins with the growth of summer insects. It is also an indisputable fact that many people, even some so-called people, can't walk through the four seasons. Therefore, it is never too late for the ancients to talk about learning, and Confucius will live and learn.
A book of Tao Te Ching, with only 5,000 words, has been filled with articles, including Lao Tzu of philosophers, Lao Tzu of military strategists, Lao Tzu of economists, Lao Tzu of managers, Lao Tzu of writers and Lao Tzu of alchemists. They are full of words and confidence. However, who got the real interpretation of Laozi? The sages once commented on the Tao Te Ching as follows: "Two hands cover the outside, and the sun and the moon gather three talents." Obviously, there is heaven, there is a tunnel, there is humanity and there is information from the collective unconscious, so there is no problem. I really don't know what better way to learn Lao Tzu well, if I can't help reading it, engrave it in my heart and can't resist it.
I found that Jung's attitude towards dreams is also the attitude towards classics. According to Jung's understanding, the answer to a dream is the dream itself. Therefore, one of the main points of Rong's dream is to keep returning to the dream itself! Reading and chanting is the best way for us to return to the classics from time to time.
My experience, the study of Jungian psychoanalysis, and even some classic words of others need to be recited repeatedly, rather than the understanding of conscious thinking.
Reading aloud is reading aloud wholeheartedly. As long as it's not just him or me. Read for a long time, more, and you will succeed. As for superposition, as for comprehensive follow-up work, we can safely leave it to time and our unconsciousness!
If you can put it down, you will be very comfortable inside.
I believe: in our bodies, people for 2 million years. More trustworthy, the natural wisdom of our lives.
5. Why can chanting enlighten people?
As for why chanting can enlighten wisdom? This is a more complicated problem. In addition to the mystery of knowledge system construction mentioned above, superposition is a more natural and scientific way, and the great wisdom contained in classics can naturally make up for our acquired "wisdom".
More importantly, sincerely adhering to the process of reading can eliminate distractions and let us concentrate on classics wholeheartedly. This state can better connect our collective unconscious, understand the samadhi behind words, and even feel the mind of sages. This is also the process in which Confucianism said that "Zhi Zhi can make a final decision" and Buddhism said that "he can make wisdom". Eliminating distractions and meditating also conforms to Jung's principle of communicating the collective unconscious through positive imagination.
As XI, the Biography of Eminent Monks, said: "When observing the boundary by the predetermined method, if you are quiet and quiet in the deep pool, you will have a thorough fish and stone, and if you are clear-minded, you will have no concealment." Mr. Chen Bing explained: "Stop" means to focus on a focus for a long time, so as to make the heart quiet, such as stopping water without waves. Buddhism believes that only with a calm and single-minded attitude can we have a strong insight into the secrets of the soul. "The meaning of" stop "and" set "here is the same. It is also a fixed state to stop at the classics with one heart and one sentence. This is also the Zen method of "talking to the head", from which one gradually cultivates to enlightenment.
In this state, it is possible, as the ancients said, "It is better to feel a little innate movement when reading thousands of books" and to continue the innate-collective unconscious wisdom. There is also the secret of transforming our own conscious self and collective unconsciousness through classics, and it also contains the secret of "being born with knowledge" as Confucius said.
The ancients often said that people are "good together." Careful investigation, how did people refine his lines? Nothing more than hobbies and desires, just for a long time. Behind his erotic behavior, there are nothing more than some core ideas, which are constantly recited, constantly recalled and even subconsciously repeated.
6. Skills of reading aloud
There is also a trick to reading aloud, that is, concentrate with the breath of the abdomen (the voice comes from the lower abdomen), and at the same time, the voice should be clear and clear, and the sooner the better. There is a simple reason. Once we read slowly, we will have our own thinking and understanding, so we are not reading classics, but ourselves. In order to better prevent distractions, you can also listen to your own reading voice with your ears (heart) while reading. If you can do this, you will be comfortable in it-if you persist for a long time, you will not only be enlightened, but also keep fit.
Reading classic methods, from the simplest to the easiest; Its benefits are profound and far-reaching, and even compared with sages, it is comfortable to meet the true heart and self.
Reading classics is a pleasure.
