Brief introduction of Wanshou Tower
The historical Wanshou Pagoda, also known as Jieyin Pagoda. Located at the southern end of Jingzhou City, Wanshou Park on Jingjiang Dike is on the elephant nose. Wanshou Pagoda According to the inscription "Liao Wang Xianding Built Wanshou Pagoda", this pagoda was built on the order of Mao, the first mother of the seventh generation of Zhu Xianzun, in order to pray for the longevity of Emperor Jiajing. The tower was built in the 27th year of Jiajing (A.D. 1548) and completed in the 31st year of Jiajing (A.D. 1552). This tower is named "Wanshou Tower" because it means good weather and endless life. Maintenance was carried out in Kangxi, Qianlong and Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, and the bottom of the tower was reinforced with cast iron hoop during the light-year period of Qing Dynasty. Because the original intention was to pray for the longevity of Emperor Jiajing, tower bricks were donated by believers all over the country, totaling more than 2,300 pieces, and each square brick was engraved with the name of the native place of worship.
