Reading experience:
This is the first time I read Su Dongpo's biography. I read Kang Zhen's version first. I also read poetry. I only got to know Teacher Kang Zhen at the conference. His ability to write poems out of words shows that he has a large reserve of poems. This book divides Su Dongpo's life into nine parts, and then has several chapters of commentary, such as the deep brotherhood of Su Shi and Su Che, the family happiness with his descendants, and the summary of Dongpo's impressions. Even in the previous narrative part, the author will add overall comments, which makes it very smooth to read. Moreover, he embeds famous poems in the introduction of his life, so that I can better understand the circumstances under which Su Shi wrote these famous lines.
After reading the entire book, I finally understand why we like Su Dongpo so much, because he is not only a master of poetry, but also a rare literary all-rounder and an open-minded person. He became famous when he was young, his official career experienced ups and downs in his middle age, and he was demoted to Danzhou, Hainan, a barbaric place in his old age. However, he never changed his open-minded nature and could always find fun in his own situation, which is why he has what we are still eating today. Dongpo soup, Dongpo meat, Dongpo wine (this one is less common). How is such a character developed? It probably has a lot to do with the fact that he has a pair of wise and open-minded parents. Both brothers have been educated so well. We can also see that the education of his parents is excellent.
There is a story about Su Shi and his mother in the book that is very interesting and can make us think deeply:
Su Shi read the story of Fan Pang (simply put, the protagonist is upright for the people, investigates and handles cases) A corrupt official, he was later killed by a traitor and was about to be sentenced to death. When he said goodbye to his mother, he felt deeply sorry that her mother could not continue to serve him. His mother said, "My son can be as famous as a loyal and righteous man, so what is the fear of death? Mother understands that you are doing this for me." "Die for ideals."), was deeply moved, so he asked his mother, Mrs. Cheng, what would she do if she were to be Fan Pang's mother? (Everyone can think about what we would say if our children asked this.)
Mrs. Cheng said, "You can be Fan Pang, why can't I be Fan Pang's mother?" This shows Mrs. Cheng's profound understanding of justice.
Precisely because Su Shi received love and correct education in his youth, he was able to have a sound personality and will to face the suspicion of the court, the frame-up of ministers, and the hardship of being demoted. At the same time, it was also because of the several good wives who accompanied him in these difficult years and the brothers and sisters who were like close friends, giving him endless courage. It can be seen that Su Dongpo was lucky, and so are we. His family and environment created the optimistic and talented Su Dongpo, and Su Dongpo achieved a new height in Song poetry.
We can learn a lot from Su Dongpo’s life experience. Today I am not sharing it from the perspective of research, but from the perspective of family growth. It is also because I have been thinking about this recently. I sincerely hope it can inspire everyone. .
