A broken halberd sank into the underwater sand without erosion. After polishing and cleaning, it was found to be a relic of Battle of Red Cliffs. At that time, if the strong east wind hadn't helped Zhou Yu to carry out the fire attack and defeated Dongwu beauties Cao Jun, Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao, they might have been captured, locked in a bronze sparrow terrace and occupied by Cao Cao.

Chibi (Author: Du Mu)

The beginning of this poem is only written with a humble halberd. This broken halberd, which was associated with the ancient war, naturally caused the following lament about history. People and things that have left traces in history are often eroded by ruthless time and easily faded from people's memories. Just like this iron halberd, it is often remembered by people by accident, or it causes nostalgia or deep thought. It is precisely because of the discovery of this halberd that the poet's mood could not be calm, so he had to grind his teeth and identify it, and found that it turned out to be the relic of the "powerful dynasty"-the battle of the Three Kingdoms in Chibi. This is a major battle that determines the tripartite confrontation among the three countries. Heroes gather, how magnificent. Recognition of the former dynasty has aroused the author's unconstrained thoughts and paved the way for the latter two sentences to express his feelings about history. Of course, the best part of the whole poem is the last two sentences that have been recited for a long time. These two sentences are arguments. "Recognizing the Former Dynasty" could have written a review of this war, but he omitted it, so it is not a memory, a description, nor a general historical evaluation, but a direct judgment of historical victory or defeat. He did not judge heroes by success or failure, but put forward an evaluation different from that of Cao Cao, a historian on the war side. He believes that all heroes in history have a chance to succeed. He observed and thought about history at a higher level, which added a spirit of climbing the stairs to poetry. Don't say the outcome of the war, just say "copper finches lock Er Qiao in spring". Use the word "lock" to emphasize Taiwan Province's secret cabinet, and further emphasize the meaning of hiding jiao. Imagine a hero, such as Cao Cao, hugging Er Qiao and singing and dancing in Tongquetai after sweeping the world, in order to enjoy the lingering spring scenery. Writing about the supposed downfall of Dongwu, not to mention such things as breaking rivers and mountains and making people miserable, and drawing "Er Qiao" as a metaphor for Wei, also conveyed the romantic and elegant leader of Dongwu. Du Mu's theory of writing history not only shows his outstanding knowledge, but also shows his depression and generosity. I lament that a hero's chance to become famous in history cannot be shown because of his untimely birth and political and military talents. There seems to be another meaning: as long as there is an opportunity, I believe I will always make a difference and show a positive and enterprising heroism.
