"Children Making Ice"
Song Dynasty. Yang Wanli, a childish child, took off the golden basin of dawn ice and threaded the colored silk into it to serve as a silver jade. ?The sound of a jade chime made its way through the forest, and suddenly there was the sound of broken glass.
Translation:
Early in the morning, the childish children cut out the ice cubes that had formed in the copper basin at night, threaded them with colorful silk threads, and held them in their hands as ice cubes. When the gong is struck gently, the ice cubes make a crisp and sweet sound. Just as the audience was fascinated by the beautiful sound like a jade chime passing through the forest, there was suddenly a sound like a crisp jade falling to the ground. It turned out that the ice in the child's hand was broken.

The poem "Children Making Ice" highlights the word "childish" and vividly depicts the childlike innocence of "making ice" in the cold weather. Let the gorgeous colors of the "gold" basin, "color" silk and "silver" ice be intertwined with the high pitch of "the sound of jade through the forest" and the sweet sound of "the sound of broken glass on the ground". It can be said that it has both form and color, beautiful sound and meaning, which is pleasing to the eye, vivid and colorful, and full of interest.
In the first two sentences, "The child's golden basin sheds the ice at dawn, and the colorful silk threads are worn as silverware.", the poet depicts an innocent and lively image of a child through a series of descriptions of the child's movements, a "child free from the dawn ice". "The words describe the child's expression of cutting out ice vividly. The last two sentences, "Beat it into a jade chime and make a sound through the forest, and suddenly the sound of broken glass." use vivid metaphors to describe the crisp sound made when ice breaks. At this time, the child seemed to be disappointed. It vividly depicts a lively, cute and innocent child playing a happy self-entertainment game in winter.
In Chinese classical poetry, it is not uncommon for poems to describe children and their activities, but those who are really willing and good at using children's life details as the title of poems can accurately and appropriately grasp it. Regarding the psychology of children, there are very few people who can portray the natural and innocent innocence of children. ?
Since ancient times, adults have lost too much innocence, curiosity and rich imagination compared with children. Only in the hands of children can ice be turned into various musical instruments and precious happiness be found. Similarly, only poets who have not lost their childlike innocence can capture the fun of children's world. The poet Yang Wanli did not use the sophistication of the adult world to laugh at the childishness and naivety of children. Instead, with an undiminished childlike heart, he paid attention to children with understanding and appreciation, leaving behind this truly innocent and childlike story for future generations. A treasure of children's poetry.
