In the Qing Dynasty, Taoism, salt and the contemporary occupied the center of poetry, which was the Song School. Song School evolved into "Tongguang" in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. Corresponding to Tongguang is the poetry reform movement that began on the eve of the Reform Movement of 1898. Including Tan Sitong, Xia Cengyou and Liang Qichao's "New Poetry" before the political reform, Huang Zunxian's "New Poetry", Liang Qichao's "Poetry Revolution" and revolutionary poetry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
