there seems to be no one on the empty mountain, and yet I think I hear a voice.

where sunlight, entering a grove, shines back to me from the green moss.

Appreciate

The first sentence "there seems to be no one on the empty mountain", and first describe the empty mountain in a positive way. Wang Wei especially likes to use the word "empty mountain", but in different poems, the realm it expresses is different. "after rain the empty mountain, stands autumnal in the evening" ("an autumn evening in the mountains"), focusing on the performance of the autumn mountain after the rain; "When people are idle, the sweet-scented osmanthus falls, and the night is quiet and the spring mountain is empty" ("Birding Stream"), which focuses on expressing the tranquility and beauty of the spring mountain at night; There seems to be no one on the empty mountain, on the other hand, focuses on the emptiness and tranquility of the mountains. Because there is no trace, this mountain that is not vacuum appears empty and empty in the poet's feeling, just like the ancient land. "Seeing no one" embodies the meaning of "empty mountain".
