We can see from the story of Happy Life that Fan Xian's initial intention is carefree and he doesn't want to participate in any intrigue and power struggle. He also thinks that Ye's idea of equality of all beings is naive, and he just wants to live happily in this life. The death of Fujitsu made him not indulge in enjoying the comfortable world, but wanted to avenge Fujitsu. He first wrote the poem "Climbing the Heights" because others constantly challenged him.
In the episode of writing poems in court, we can see that Fan Xian became a poet in the Southern Qing Dynasty because he wrote more than 100 poems that have been handed down through the ages overnight, but he didn't mean to do it, but because Zhuang Mohan framed him and said that the last four sentences of his climbing the mountain were written by Zhuang Mohan's master, not Fan Xian, which made Fan Xian write poems to refute him. Fan Xian also said in court that these poems were not written by himself, but were seen in another world, but no one believed this statement.
In fact, Fan Xian wondered at first why he had these memories. In the letter written to him by his mother Ye, we can see that he is indeed Ye's son, but he has some thoughts and memories. Moreover, when Fan Xian did many things, he particularly emphasized that this was not written by himself. Becoming a court poet has really brought him many benefits, which can make him have a better development in the future, be convenient to do things and be more arbitrary.
So all the strange things are not that Fan Xian doesn't admit it, but that no one believes it.
