This poem about Ji You was written in 184 (the seventh year of Yuanfeng in Song Shenzong), when Su Shi was on his way to Ruzhou (now Ruxian, Henan) as a Yong Lian ambassador and passed through Sizhou (now Sixian, Anhui), when he was traveling to Nanshan with Liu Qianshu in Sizhou. The first part of the poem is about the scene of early spring, and the second part is about the flavor of green tea picnic when the writer and fellow travelers travel in the mountains.
