What is a narrative poem?

Different from lyric poetry, narrative poetry, as a kind of poetry, often indirectly reflects the poet's understanding, evaluation, wishes and ideals about life by describing stories or portraying characters. Narrative poetry usually does not directly express the poet's own feelings like lyric poetry, but harmoniously combines narrative and lyric, and melts the poet's subjective feelings into narrative. For example, the famous folk song Mulan Poetry in the Northern Dynasties tells the story of Mulan joining the army as her father. From Hua Mulan disguised as a man to returning to China after repeated military exploits, the author's admiration and praise for Hua Mulan was integrated into the narrative, which made this long narrative poem have a profound lyrical meaning and made the image of Hua Mulan deeply loved by the masses for thousands of years.
