Prose: Entering Bing'an Bai's Poetic World

Because I like writing and reading poems, I read dozens of poems in one breath when I turned on the varied arias written by Mr. Bing'an Bai. I think the words in the poem reflect the author's keen insight into life, his compassion for the world and his true heart full of justice and compassion.

For a dollar

At someone else's feet

Shoe others' shoes.

Be cooled by the night wind

-"Shoe polisher"

In the poem, the shoeshine boy lives in Zhaoqing, which speaks Cantonese. Perhaps because of an accidental passing by, the author may have to receive guests at the hotel. When you come here, when you see someone polishing shoes, others may be dismissive and cocky. The author's kind eyes have been watching the shoeshine man's every move for a long time, feeling the hardships and difficulties of the other person's life, so the poem ends with a sentence "Being cooled by the night wind", which has a very profound meaning. The author's sympathy is also reflected in his poems about mine accidents, cleaners and laid-off. It can be seen that he is very concerned about the lives of the people at the bottom, shouting and appealing for their misfortune in the language of poetry, which is in sharp contrast with the selfishness and coldness of some people in the real society, showing the author's personality strength and worthy of the sacredness and loftiness of poetry.

What is poetry? Is poetry a torrent of catharsis in the inner world, or is it a hard hoe specially used to dig the roots buried under the vegetation in real life? I think it is both. If the shoeshine is like this, so is the poem after the tree falls:

After the tree fell, it dispersed.

The bird is standing in the tree.

Watching the language ring in silence.

The author then tells what happened after the tree fell:

An old man sawed off a piece.

Ignite earth furnace

A middle-aged man sawed off a piece.

Create furniture

The sound of cutting

Ring through the night sky

Polish the dim light

Analyzing this poem seems to be concerned about environmental protection, but we can also analyze the indifference of life from another angle, which shows that language is pun-intended and cannot be treated simply.

Mr. Bing'an Bai's poems also reflect strong local feelings. The poem "This Life is in Zhaoqing" wrote:

A tree is planted on the land in western Guangdong.

A famous tree is called Zhaoqing

The roots are deep and leafy, shading the sun.

Form a unique landscape

I am a leaf on the tree.

Connect with branches

The nutrition of roots that have been drunk for decades.

There is green and beauty.

I am also a root beard.

Unite around the roots

Stick tightly to hot soil

The wind can't blow, and the rain can't go.

Oh! Reach out and get it

Live at the root

This poem expresses the author's deep love for this hot land. Deep homesickness complex, like the thick ink grinded by the famous Duan inkstone, once written on white rice paper with a brush, can never be erased!

We can see that the author's attention to Zhaoqing is profound and delicate, from the historical figure Bao Zheng, a dressing girl who kept the blue light alone in the ancient alley, to the ancient buildings in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, buses, flowers and plants, all of which have entrusted the author with deep feelings.

Poetry is the art of singing, which comes from real life. The author's poems express a series of thoughts on life, which are true, natural, cordial and philosophical, which are the remarkable artistic characteristics of his works.

Poetry needs to make good sentences. The poet Gu Cheng once left a famous sentence "The night gave me black eyes, but I used them to find light". However, Mr. Bai Bing 'an's poems are quite skillful in poetry management, and most of them are concise and vivid. For example, "Maybe all the ink is spilled in the sky/even the face of time is black". ("Feeling") "The hand of the times grabbed the throat of life/the cry of pain squeezed the closed window". ("Laid off") "The expression is like a torch in the dark/flashing in the boundless". This kind of sentence can be seen everywhere in the poem, which is quite wonderful and worth tasting.

In this book, poetry is just like this in all kinds of arias, but I feel that the aria of poetry is like the water of Xijiang River, the spring of Dinghu Lake, the rain of stars and stones, and the rhyme is melodious!
