Meeting Gurdjieff

The first time I heard the name "Gurdjieff" was when I read OSHO's book "The Journey to True Love - From Sex to Superconsciousness" twenty years ago, which mentioned "Gurdjieff" (The translation was different at the time, referring to the same person). For this reason, I have to thank OSHO.

Later, around 2001, through an accidental search on the Internet, I contacted a group that practices Gurdjieff’s Fourth Path in Beijing. At that time, I borrowed "In Search of Miracles" (which is the book Ouspensky wrote about Gurdjieff’s teachings). (When I got it, I read it for several hours in Houhai, Beijing), and then got to know the Chinese translator of this book, Huang Chenghuang. Through Ahuang, I bought the fourth Taiwanese version of the series of books about Gurdjieff - "Exploring Miracles", "Encounters with Strange People" and "Voices from the Real World" (the latter two were written by Gurdjieff himself).

For more than ten years, I have often taken out books about Gurdjieff and read them over and over again. When I read them, I still find his books informative and nourishing. I was impressed by his intelligence, cunning, variety and especially good at making money! Such a person who is difficult to frame and often does not play his cards according to the rules not only makes me like him, but also makes me feel inexplicable from time to time. No matter what, Lao Ge had an effective impact on me! In order to find miracles, he constantly organizes cross-border teams to travel around the world - the purpose is to continue to search for secret knowledge and to continue to practice the truth through group work. Such experiences and states have become the prototype that inspires the power of human life.

Although Gurdjieff’s body has left the earth for almost seventy years, his influence is still there. This influence permeates the physical, mental, spiritual and artistic fields, and has influenced many people (including later Some masters, masters and elites) have brought profound influence - the influence of "revolution in the depths of the soul". It can be said that he has also become a source of inspiration for many people. For example, the famous Peter Brook, who is known as the father of modern theater experimentation, frankly expressed the great influence Gurdjieff had on him in his own memoirs "The Line of Time". Later, Peter Brook made the movie of the same name in 1979, "Encounters with Strange People", which vividly presented the journey and image of an explorer. In addition, the Polish drama master Grotowski (the master of Liu Ruoyu, the founder of Youren Shenggu) and Feldenkrais, the pioneer of physical wisdom, also admired Gurdjieff very much. When I watched the documentary "Lanling Theater" in the summer of 2014, I learned that Ah Huang and Jin Shijie were core members of this famous Taiwanese performance group. I really love the house and the bird! Through Gurdjieff, many similar souls met each other. Peter Brook and Grotowski are good friends, as are Liu Ruoyu, Lai Shengchuan, and Huang Chenghuang. These five are all great masters of drama, and they have all been benefited by George Gurdjieff. I watched the plays directed by Brooke, Lai Shengchuan and Liu Ruoyu, and they seemed to match each other quite well. In this series of connections, we can see a golden thread running through the destinies of different people - they are all interconnected and connected because of Gurdjieff, and they all meet because of the exploration of the truth. Such encounters transcend time and space, and it is so wonderful!

Meeting Gurdjieff, meeting the real self... it also constantly triggered my own reality drama, as well as scenes of colorful life aggregation and symphony, which can be said to be integrated into a larger world. A magnificent life drama, golden and full of creativity, but its foundation and tone are still uncompromising - remember yourself! ! !
