Dao Shi shan ju Yan

Author: Meng Haoran

I'm lying in bed in the Woods, sad that spring is coming to an end. You can see something from the curtains.

A shining bluebird called me to the residence of the Korean pine elf.

The golden stove burns first, and the peach tree magically shoots! .

Also because he held his youth in his face, the rosy flowing wine! .

To annotate ...

1, Mei Daochang: Life is unknown. Meng Haoran has poems such as "Xun Mei Taoist" and "Mei Daoshi Shuige", which shows that Mei Daoshi is a reclusive neighbor. The title of the poem is "Qingming Banquet Mei Daoshi Mountain Residence"

2, forest lying: high lying under the forest, refers to seclusion. Curtain: Lift the curtain. Wuhua: Scenery.

3. Bluebird: the mythical bird name, the messenger of the Queen Mother of the West. This refers to Taoist Mei. According to the story of Hanwu, when the Queen Mother of the West wanted to visit Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, a bluebird flew in first, and then the bluebird was used as a metaphor for the messenger. Shan Hai Jing ·Xi· Mountain View: "220 miles to the west, it is called the mountain of three dangers, where the three bluebirds live." Guo Pu's note: "The three bluebirds are the eaters of the Queen Mother of the West, so don't live in this mountain." Here, Taoist Mei sent someone to invite the poet to dinner.

"The Legend of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty" said that the Queen Mother of the West once sent a peach to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty with a jade plate: "I also ordered the maid to bear more peaches. In a short time, seven peaches were put in a jade plate, which was as big as a duck's egg and round You Lan in shape, and showed it to the Queen Mother. 9, childlike eyes: It means that if the fairy wine can really make the face not old, then don't hesitate to get drunk. Liu Xia: the name of fairy wine. Li Shangyin's Wuyishan poem: "I have a glass of Xiaxia wine." It also means drunk.

The sadness of seclusion in the forest is coming to an end, so open the curtains and watch the wild scenery. Suddenly, I met the messenger of Jade Bird and invited me to visit the Fairy House of Akamatsu. The furnace of alchemy has just started a fire, and the fairy peach blossoms are blooming. If the face of youth can last forever, why cherish the intoxicating wine?

Rhyme translation

Lying high in the forest, I was worried that spring would soon pass, so I opened the curtains to see the gorgeous scenery.

Suddenly, I met the messenger. It was Akamatsu who invited me to his house.

The alchemy furnace is just on fire, and the Xiantao in the courtyard has just opened.

If fairies can really keep their virginity, why drink and rejuvenate?

Comment and analysis

In the Tang Dynasty, due to the nonsense in the Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism and Taoism were parallel and there were many monks, so many people became monks and did not have to compete with ordinary people for employment opportunities. The poet Meng seems to be a hermit who lives in seclusion in the mountains and has made many friends with Buddhists and Taoists. Taoist Mei must drink and write poems, and he must be arty, and he should always entertain all the elegant people in the Taoist temple. Meng Shi dreamed of spring and enjoyed the passing of Chunhua. Mei Daochang's youngest son ran over and shouted, "Master is going to treat everyone to drinks again." Hearing the joy, I am still worried about that difficult day. Rushing to Meidaoguan, a group of elegant people were seated, Taoist children began to refine the elixir, and poets gathered to enjoy the peach blossoms. The poet Meng made a joke and said, Master Mei, if you practice, you can keep your young face. What do you want? What do you want? What do you want to drink to rejuvenate yourself? The poem is very simple, just four sentences, about the life of a hermit and Taoist priest. Hermits come to see spring at leisure, while Taoists are busy inviting people to dinner. What bluebird, red pine, golden furnace, Xiantao, innocent face like fairyland, is really human. However, the poet was so idle that he admired the richness and variety of Taoist life. As a hermit, this poem feasts in Mei's Taoist mountain house, so it borrows terms such as golden furnace, peach blossom, lingering beauty and flowing water, and uses allusions such as bluebird and red pine nuts to describe the scenery of Taoist mountain house, giving it the charm of wandering immortals and revealing the meaning of returning to the Tao.

Brief introduction of the author

Meng Haoran (689 ~ 740): a poet in the Tang Dynasty. Xiangyang Xiangzhou (now Xiangfan, Hubei) Xiangyang is known as Meng Xiangyang in the world. In the first half of my life, I mainly stayed at home to study and adapted my own poems. Once lived in seclusion in Lumen Mountain. 40 years old, traveled to Chang 'an and returned to Xiangyang. I made friends with Zhang Jiuling and Wang Wei when I was in Chang 'an. There is a poem title. After roaming in wuyue, I was down and out, so as to relieve my frustration in my official career. Before and after, I also traveled to Yangzhou and some places in Hunan, Jiangxi and Sichuan, and also stayed in Luoyang. In the 22nd year of Kaiyuan (734), Han Chaozong, the secretariat of Xiangzhou, invited him to Chang 'an with him, which made him famous. However, Meng Haoran didn't respect fame, so he didn't go. Twenty-five years, Zhang Jiuling as a long history of Jingzhou, the shogunate, less than a year to return home. Twenty-eight years later, he got a rash and back disease, and will recover soon. So he came to Xiangyang in Wang Changling and met him happily. He died of binge drinking and eating fresh food.

Meng Haoran was born in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and he was determined to use the world in his early years. After experiencing the hardships and pains of his official career, he can still respect himself, not flatter the world, and be a lifelong hermit.

Meng Haoran's poems are mostly five-character short stories with limited themes. He writes more about landscapes, pastoral areas, seclusion and travel. Although it is not without cynicism, it is more of a poet's self-expression. He and Wang Wei are also called Wang Meng. Although his poems are not as broad as Wang's, they have unique artistic attainments, and they are the pioneering works of the pastoral poetry school in Tang Dynasty after Tao Yuanming, Xie Lingyun and Xie Tiao. His poems are light and simple, affectionate and true, full of wonderful and complacent interests. For example, Qiu Deng Wan Shan sends Zhang Wu, Guo Zhuang, Xiao Chun and other articles. They are all natural, elegant in sound and rhyme, beautiful in artistic conception and infinite in ethereal spirit.

The tone of this poem is clear and broad, but "there is a strong and relaxed atmosphere in haste" (Pu Yin). For example, "Dongting Lake reports to Premier Zhang" and "Clouds dream and fog come over Yueyang City" to describe the spectacular famous sentences of Dongting Lake. But this kind of poem is rare in Meng's poems after all. Generally speaking, the content of Meng's poems is thin, which makes him trapped by space.

The popular Collection of Meng Haoran is an engraving of the early Southern Song Dynasty, with 263 poems, but some of them are other people's works.

Go to the residence of the Korean pine elves.

Peach trees are in bud! -

Leave childhood memories on his face,

The rosy clouds and flowing wine!
