How is the criticism of Left expressed in misty poems?

On the Cultural Value of Misty Poetry

Keywords:: misty poetry humanity critical cultural value

First, the background of misty poetry.

Misty poetry, also known as the new poetry tide, is the product of the poetry movement of the new poetry tide. Because of its opacity and fuzziness in artistic form, it is called "misty poetry". The so-called subscription poetry tide refers to a trend of heroic poetry in China's contemporary humanistic literature. This trend of thought began in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and has been in poetry and even literature since 1980s.

As for the origin of the misty poetry tide, the general literary historians take the poetry magazine Today founded by poets such as Beidao and Munk in Beijing from 65438 to 0987 as the symbol of its origin. In fact, the publication of today's magazines is only a turning point of the misty poetry tide from "underground" to "above ground", as early as 1966? -During the "Cultural Revolution" from 65438 to 0976, although "revolutionary model operas" were the most outstanding works in public literature, sensitive people, the younger generation, began to develop their own independent consciousness. When the misty poetry tide happened, the nation and the country had just got rid of the chaotic situation and were in an era when everything was dying. Among them, Huang Xiang, forefinger and Baiyangdian are the most noteworthy. These "potential writings" have a common feature, that is, "getting rid of the shackles of mainstream ideological discourse, returning to one's own real life experience, imagination and thinking, and showing the awakening of humanity and art". Unlike writers who rely on their own spiritual resources, the rebels of the younger generation are more inspired by real life.

Second, the cultural connotation of misty poetry

1, human nature

The "Cultural Revolution" period can be said to be an irrational and crazy period of cultural terror since the founding of the People's Republic of China. A large number of progressive cultural ideas and their outstanding achievements have been ruthlessly destroyed and ravaged as "poisonous weeds". In theory and practice, the trend of humanistic literature continued during this period, and the reason why "misty poetry" still appeared during this period lies in the following reasons: firstly, humanism, as a spiritual phenomenon of human beings, will not disappear because of the suppression of some alien forces; On the contrary, its intensification can only make it stand out more tenaciously and form a trend of thought. In a sense, the poetry of the new poetry tide is the product of this repression and intensification; Secondly, the humanistic tradition and some foreign literary works since the May 4th Movement nourished the group of young poets at that time. Although most progressive literature books were banned at that time, the banned "yellow books" caused an underground reading craze among some young people in the early 1970s. They learned a lot of brand-new expressions from some western modernist poems and other works, which was the artistic source of "misty poetry". Thirdly, the direct reason why the misty poetry school can inherit the humanistic literature of the May 4th Movement is that a group of young intellectuals were alert in the "going to the countryside" movement at that time. Their questioning of self-worth and concern for the fate of a generation of young people provided an opportunity for the germination of the new poetry tide, that is, the so-called subjective awakening in the literary debate in the mid-1980 s, which made the poetry of the new poetry tide choose that specific historical period. Breaking with the ultra-left trend of thought at that time and criticizing it became the mission of the pioneers of misty poetry.

2. The degree of danger

Ten years of "Cultural Revolution" destroyed the youth of the poets of the new poetry tide, making them a "destroyed generation". In their reflection, they gradually realized that their generation should belong to and be able to be in the position, that is, "as a witness of history." Providing historical testimony for future generations is their life value.

Third, the cultural value of misty poetry

At the time of the misty poetry tide, the nation and the country had just got rid of the chaotic situation and were still in an era when everything was dying. The school of misty poetry has more inherited the elite complex and sensitive sense of the times of intellectuals. "Consciousness finally gave us a chance to sing the songs buried in our hearts for ten years", "The arduous task of embodying the spirit of the boxing era fell on the shoulders of our generation"-"Today's Poetry Group" shows that they will take the country, history and times as their own responsibility, showing a strong spirit of social participation and critical consciousness. When the nightmare of the "Cultural Revolution" lasted for ten years ended, the "scars" left by the "Cultural Revolution" in people's memory finally had the opportunity and possibility to vent. After today's poetry group shattered the whole dull and rigid poetry world like lightning, Zhang Ming published an article of "suffocating obscurity", pointing out that this new poem has a tendency of "obscurity and eccentricity". "People seem to understand it, half understand it, or even don't understand it at all." He gave this "mystery that can never be solved" a nickname-misty poetry. Li even denied the fact that misty poetry is poetry: "Poetry is not poetry unless the author personally explains it." Misty poetry poses a great challenge to readers who are used to the existing poetry formulas and simple tastes. In the early 1980s, Kitajima once said, "We have been preparing for decades, so we will write in a closed way." Shu Ting, as a pioneer and devotee, promised to "give the latecomers/sign the pass". "What we are not used to at the moment is not necessarily a bad thing, and poems that we don't know much about are not necessarily bad poems. I don't agree that poetry is incomprehensible at first, but I advocate that some poems should be allowed to be incomprehensible. "

When the poet uses brand-new poetry and brand-new aesthetic consciousness to break through and crush some habitual and mechanical acceptance modes, both the poet and the reader will be reborn. This hazy plan finally gained a firm foothold under the insistence of a group of poets and theorists. Misty poetry won its own value because of its revolutionary attempt and began to raise the banner of rebellion to their predecessors. The "misty poetry" produced under the special historical environment and conditions is the emotional crystallization of the injured generation, which profoundly shows the spiritual imprint and life files of a generation. When they bear the confusion and pain after social deception, blasphemy and betrayal at the expense of all their youth, they gain an undeserved but rare wealth from the opposite side, and they find their own vast world in the spiritual wandering. The acquisition of this spirit should first be based on exposing the dark negative emotions and social criticism. With a solemn and stirring gesture, they directly inherited the strong sense of social responsibility and mission of China intellectuals. In a sense, the rise of "misty poetry" is the rise of the right to life in China's literature, the rise of the poet's holy and noble view of love and his extraordinary temperament to express love, and also a declaration of equality and independence.
