Sun Zhu, a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu (17 1 1), is from Xiuning, Anhui.

He studied in imperial academy, the capital of Jiangsu Province in his early years. In the ninth year of Qianlong (1744), he was promoted, and in the eleventh year of Qianlong, he was a scholar in Shangyuan (now Jiangning) County, Jiangsu Province. Qianlong was a scholar for sixteen years, and later served as a magistrate in Dacheng County, Shuntianfu, a magistrate in lulong county, Zhili, a magistrate in zouping county, Shandong, and a professor in Fu Xue, Jiangning.
