Textbook analysis

Yu Guangzhong, a Taiwan Province writer, is a poet who has been away from the mainland for more than 30 years. His Homesickness, with a unique perspective and plain language, expresses the author's deep homesickness for the reunification of the motherland and the reunion of relatives. His works are deeply branded with the times.

The whole poem is divided into four sections, which run through the whole text in the order of temporal and spatial changes. The poet extracted four intentions from distant time and space, such as stamps, boat tickets, graves and straits, and formed four concrete sentences, which turned the ethereal and abstract homesickness into concrete and sensible images. When young people leave home, they can only express their thoughts about their hometown and family with a sincere letter; As newlyweds, parting is sad. Only by building a bridge with "a narrow boat ticket" can parting become reunion. Later, my mother died, and "a low grave" separated me from my mother forever. Nowadays, the saddest "homesickness" is actually this "shallow strait", which has been artificially blocked for decades, making "I am on this continent and I am there". What an unforgettable memory it is! This poem was written in 1972, when the mainland was almost isolated from Taiwan Province Province.

Poetry makes full use of rhetorical devices such as metaphor, contrast, repetition and contrast. Implicitly and euphemistically express the feelings of missing the motherland incisively and vividly, deeply and naturally. Hope for return, hope for the reunification of the motherland and persistent homesickness blend together, further deepening the artistic appeal of poetry.

This poem embodies the beauty of structure and music in form. Nostalgia has four segments, and each segment has four lines, which are symmetrical and balanced. The poet noticed that long sentences and short sentences changed each other and had uneven beauty. The beauty of music is mainly reflected in the beautiful melody of going back and forth, singing and sighing, and the use of reduplicated words, which are tactfully low, sobbing and touching.

The whole poem is like a soft and sad "homesick song", and it is also a deep and beautiful love song for the motherland and relatives, with strong lyrical meaning. The artistic conception created by poetry is gloomy and distant; The language used is novel and simple; The feelings expressed are strong and profound.

(2) What images are used in this poem to express homesickness? What rhetorical devices are used in this poem? What's the effect? What's the meaning?

Poets describe abstract homesickness as "stamps", "boat tickets", "graves" and "straits", which makes homesickness tangible and vivid.

When I was a child, I went out to study, and the "small stamp" enabled me to pin the author's longing for my mother and hometown on a letter from home. When I grow up, I miss my mother and my lover when I go out to make a living. "Narrow boat ticket" enables me to travel back and forth between the mainland and Taiwan Province Province, and relieves my endless troubles. Later, "a short grave, let my mother and I live forever, and never see each other again." Perhaps, when my mother died, she was still full of tears and looking forward to meeting again! " Now, "a shallow strait" separates many people from each other and misses them day and night! It is sad for the poet to combine his personal joys and sorrows with his love for the great motherland and the nation. It implies a strong desire for family reunion and reunification of the motherland.

The whole poem uses novel metaphors to extract four images from the complicated world and vast space-time. In addition, rhetorical devices such as comparison, repetition and contrast are used to make the homesickness of the wanderer concrete and tangible, such as weeping and touching. The first three sections are like surging waves, and the last section is a nine-level wave of poetry, and the emotional tide surges out and reaches a climax. As the poet said, "the sense of history is vertical, the sense of region is horizontal, and the sense of reality at the crossroads is vertical and horizontal." The variation of the poet's homesick poems in the new era and special geographical conditions has a breadth and depth that can't be compared with any previous era.

Homesickness is dignified. Why do you say "small stamps", "narrow boat tickets", "low graves" and "shallow straits" in the poem?
