Tao Yuanming is the pioneer of landscape pastoral poetry in the history of China literature, and Xie Lingyun is the pioneer of landscape poetry. Both of them are good at describing natural scenery and expressing their interest in life in pastoral landscapes, so they are called "two names". Du Fu's poem "How can you think like Xie Tao's hand and let the canal walk with you". However, Xie Shi's poems are far from touching in content and different in artistic style: Shi Tao's poems mainly express his thoughts and feelings directly, and natural scenery is only a means of happiness; Xie's poems mainly describe natural scenery directly, and expressing thoughts and feelings is only indirect embellishment. Shi Tao is simple, fresh and natural; Xie Shi is rich and exquisite, hoping to achieve nature by artificial means.
