From "Human World"
On April 5, 1934, "Human World" was first published, and its "Publishing Words" wrote: "Ning Zhou is as big as a fly is as small as a fly. We can draw materials, so it is called "Human World". In addition to travel notes, poems, inscriptions and postscripts, prefaces, rulers, and diaries, we also pay special attention to Qingjun argumentative essays and reading essays, hoping to open the book usefully, cover it interestingly, and not only chant the wind. "The moon is full of moonlight, and literature has become nothing more than a plaything." This passage more clearly shows Lin Yutang's purpose of founding the magazine, which is to make readers "read the book beneficially." Later, Lin Yutang repeatedly stated that "opening the book is beneficial, covering the book is interesting" was his goal in founding the magazine.
