Deng Jincheng Sanhualou Li Bai Translation

Deng Jincheng Sanhua Building Li Bai’s translation is as follows:

The morning sun shines on the Sanhua Building in the southern suburbs of Chengdu. The window lattice upstairs shines with golden light, and the paintings on the door are as beautiful as brocade. The curtains made of pearls are hung on silver curtain hooks, and the flying stairs rise among the green trees.

Standing at the top of the building, looking around, all the sadness and anger were swept away. The dim dusk rain drifted vaguely towards the Three Gorges, and the spring water of the river surrounded Shuangliu City. At this moment, being at the top of the building is like traveling on the ninth heaven.

Creative background:

"Climbing the Sanhua Tower in Jincheng" is a work written by the great poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty when he visited Chengdu in his youth. This poem describes time as the main axis, from morning light to dusk rain, and spreads around, reaching Shuangliu City in the south and the Three Gorges in the east.

The image is vivid and the artistic conception is elegant, expressing the joy of climbing the stairs. The whole poem uses gorgeous words to describe the scenery he sees, which is quite suitable for the identity of young Li Bai. This poem was written by Li Bai in his youth and is one of the earliest poems written by Li Bai.
