Mulan Ci is a Yuefu folk song sung in the Southern and Northern Dynasties in China, which was classified as a cross-blowing tune in Guo Maoqian's Yuefu poems. Later generations called it "Yuefu Shuang Bao" together with Peacock Flying Southeast. Mulan Ci is a long narrative poem, which tells the story of a girl named Mulan who disguised herself as a man, joined the army for her father, made meritorious deeds on the battlefield, refused to be an official after returning to North Korea, and just wanted to go home and reunite. She warmly praised the woman's brave and kind qualities, her enthusiasm for defending the country and her fearless spirit.
