Gu: Qiandeng people in Kunshan, formerly known as Jiang, were loyal and clear, and changed their names after Ming's death, and were called Mr.. A famous thinker, scholar and historian in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. Mr. Gu is one of the "Three Great Confucians" who are equally famous with Huang Zongxi and Wang Fuzhi in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. People's Daily named him one of the 72 great men in China.

Gu (16 13- 1682), formerly known as Jiang, was loyal and honest. After the death of Ming Chengzu, he changed his name to Yanwu, the word Ningren, and was once a maid in Shan Jiang. Scholars respect Mr Lin Ting. A native of Kunshan County, Zhili, Ming Dynasty (now Kunshan, Suzhou, Jiangsu), he was a famous thinker and scholar in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
Knowledgeable, he, together with Huang Zongxi and Wang Fuzhi, is called "three great Confucians in late Ming and early Qing Dynasty", "three gentlemen in early Qing Dynasty" or "three great thinkers in late Ming and early Qing Dynasty".
Gu's article is pragmatic, practical, simple and natural, and well organized. Poetry, such as Du Fu, is meticulous in the use of classical works and pays more attention to current affairs. In his later years, the poetic style changed greatly, full of imagination, and even the immortal Taoism was integrated into the poem.
His major works include Records of the Day, Diseases in the Country under the Heaven, Zhao Yuzhi, Five Tones, Phonological Tone, Ancient Phonological Table, Poetic Original Phonology, Tang Yunzheng, Phonology, Records of the Stone, and Lin Ting's Poems.
