Tagore's Poetry Writing Style

Influenced by Indian classical literature, western poetry and Bangladeshi folk lyrics, Tagore's poems in his life are mostly rhymed and unabridged free poems and prose poems. Influenced by western novels, his novels are innovative, especially the combination of poetry and painting to form a unique style. The most striking feature of Tagore's unique style is its poetic features. This paper comprehensively expounds this feature, and puts forward the "interest theory" in Indian poetics to explain it, thus proving that Tagore's short stories are closely related to poetry not only in language and passion, but also in creative standards and theoretical basis. He inherited the excellent traditions of classicism and folk literature, absorbed the rich nutrition of European romanticism and realism literature, and achieved great success in his creation.

Tagore wrote more than 50 poems, 12 novels, 108 short stories and 20 plays in his life. Although there are many achievements in his creation, he is famous all over the world through his poems. His early poems are rich in themes, diverse in forms and fresh and beautiful in style. 19 13, the collection of religious lyric poems "Gitanjali" won the Nobel Prize in Literature, which was the first time that an oriental won this honor. His later political poems closely matched the real struggle and won him the title of "patriotic poet". Deeply rooted in the soil of national art, he boldly absorbed the nutrition of foreign poetry and opened up a new world of Indian poetry. People respectfully call him a "poet saint".

Most of the early story poems came from religious legends and folk stories. Religious legends include stories of Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism. The author has artistically processed and recreated these stories. The mid-term "Gitanjali" is Tagore's most famous poetry collection. "Gitanjali" means "a poem", that is, a poem dedicated to God. The theme of poetry collection is to worship God and yearn for the combination with God. India has had the form of praising God since ancient times, but this book of poems by Tagore closely combines with reality and expresses the poet's exploration and pursuit of life ideals. The later political lyrics gradually changed the reformist mood and mysticism in the past, showing obvious political tendency. The poem 10 in Birthday Collection is considered as a monument of Tagore's life. The central issue put forward by Tagore in this poem is the relationship between the poet and the working people. Based on this, he summarized and evaluated his life creation.
