Gong Daoyong was born in Zigong, Sichuan. Born in 1962, he is the fourth generation descendant of "Gong Shan". In 1999, he was awarded the title of "Master of Arts and Crafts of Sichuan Province" by the Sichuan Provincial Government. In 2006, he won the title of the 5th "Chinese Arts and Crafts Master".

Mr. Gong Daoyong was born in the "Gong Fan" family. He has been studying art with his father since he was a teenager. Under his father's careful teaching and strict requirements, his skills were inherited from his father. During his more than 30 years of bamboo weaving, he has the courage to explore and innovate, reducing the thickness of bamboo silk from 0.025mm to 0.01-0.015mm thicker than human hair. It is still thin, and the width of the bamboo silk has also dropped by 30%. It breaks the traditional practice of only weaving round fans and develops into round fans, square screens, miniature and other fan shapes, which makes the work a huge leap in terms of texture. The work "Plum Blossom Fairy" produced by Mr. Gong Daoyong won the Silver Award (the highest honor in the bamboo weaving category) at the first Chinese Arts and Crafts Master Works and Arts and Crafts Fine Arts Expo in Hangzhou West Lake Expo in 2000. In 2001, Fang Ping's "Lady Camellia" won the Bronze Award at the second quality event of the association. "The Magpie Fairy" won the Sichuan Province Gold Award for Excellent Tourist Souvenirs in 2004. In the same year, "Plum Blossom Fairy" won the Silver Award at the Fifth Arts and Crafts Master Works and Arts and Crafts Boutique Expo in Hangzhou West Lake Expo. "Konghou Tu" was collected by the National Museum of China in January 2007.
