The earliest poetry in the world

Ancient poetry without written records can no longer be verified, but the earliest documented poem born in the world is the book of the dead in ancient Egypt.

The pyramids are symbols of ancient Egyptian history, and the book of the dead is the earliest written literature in the world literature. These two seemingly unrelated things, however, are closely linked in fate. They are both products of ancient Egypt, and both reflect the ancient Egyptians' thoughts, beliefs, life, wisdom, strength and high culture.

The book of the dead, also known as the book of the dead, is the earliest poetry collection of mankind, not for the living, but for the soul after death. It turns out that the ancient Egyptians thought that life was not limited to this world. They believe that after death, people should live a low life and undergo various tests. Only those who pass the tests can see the light of day, enter the kingdom of heaven and get a chance to be born again. Therefore, on the one hand, the ancient Egyptians attached great importance to the preservation of corpses. After death, they smeared the body with spices, made it into mummies, wrapped it in linen and put it in ancient coffins. On the other hand, it also attaches great importance to the guidance of life after death. People often prepare a complete set of reading materials for the dead, which is the origin of the book of the dead. In this way, the book of death is actually a guide and a record of people's preparations for the deceased to travel in the underworld. It is written in hieroglyphics on papyrus scrolls. Some of these books are put in special boxes, some are put in coffins, and some are wrapped in mummies.

The earliest creation of Death was in 3500 BC, and most of them were Chinese and Korean poems from 2000 BC to 1800 BC. It is not a religious classic, and the contents of each volume are not complete and unified. Taken together, it can be divided into 140 chapters. Its structure is loose, and there is no organic ideological connection between chapters.

The Book of the Dead is rich in content, including ode to God and incantation to the devil, confession poems begging God's forgiveness, poems teaching the dead how to accept God's judgment, poems warning the dead to ignite against the evil god Seto's persecution, and so on.

The earliest recorded poem in China is "Song of Breaking the Earth", which was produced in the period of Emperor Yao, around 2400 BC.
